活动简介：

每天，新闻记者冒着危险把真相呈现给观众，告知、启迪观众，制造社会焦点。在新闻界有一句名言“comfort the afflicted, and afflict the comfortable （安慰受伤者，刺痛舒服者）”，这就是记者的任务。本次讲座，我们将会介绍美国过去与今天媒体的角色，以及分析历史案例，记者们是如何影响群众，记者面临的挑战等。

Every day around the world, journalists takerisks to bring information to the public that informs, enlightens, and sparksdebate. A famous saying states that the purpose of a journalist is to ‘comfortthe afflicted, and afflict the comfortable.’ Come and learn more about the roleof the media in the United States in the past and in the present, famousexamples of journalists informing their communities, and challenges they face alongthe way.
