Thiscourse is designed for non-native English speakers who are interested inimproving their English skills in the sciences. In this course, learners willexplore some of the most innovative areas of scientific study, while expandingtheir vocabulary and the language skills needed to share scientific informationwithin their communities. In unit 1, learners will learn how the scientificmethod can be used to explore climate change. In unit 2, learners will examineresearch on alternative energy sources. The next unit in the course will focuson the impact of climate change, while unit 4 will explore the applications ofnanotechnology. In the final unit of the course, learners will demonstratetheir increased understanding of STEM topics through a culminating finalproject on a science experiment of his or her choice.
