Notice on 2018 Dongwu International Forum for Young Scholars,
Soochow University
苏州大学坐落于历史文化名城——苏州，拥有近120年历史，是国家"211工程"重点建设高校、"2011计划"首批入选高校，被《Nature Index 2016》报告称为"全球上升最快的大学"。2017年国际USNews、ARWU、THE、QS四大排行榜的平均排名，苏州大学位居全球高校第426位，国内高校第17位。截止目前，化学、物理学、材料学、临床医学、工程学、药学与毒理学、生物与生物化学、神经科学与行为科学、分子生物与遗传学共9个学科进入全球基本科学指标（ESI）前1%，化学、材料学2个学科进入全球基本科学指标（ESI）前1‰。
现举办2018年国际青年学者东吴论坛，竭诚欢迎海内外英才参加。
Located in Suzhou, a city of historic and cultural renown, and founded in 1900, Soochow University is a key national "Project 211" university and covered by "Plan 2011". It was listed by Nature Index 2016 as the most rapidly rising university of the world. In 2017, it ranked the 426th globally and 17th domestically on the university ranking by US News, ARWU, THE and QS. Up to date, its nine disciplines, namely, chemistry, physics, materials science, clinical medicine, engineering, pharmacy and toxicology, biology and biological chemistry, neurology and behavioral science, and molecular biology and genetics are among the ESI Global Disciplines Ranking Top 1%. In particular, its chemistry and materials science are among the Top 1‰.
We hereby extend an invitation to young international scholars to the 2018 Dongwu International Forum for Young Scholars, Soochow University.
苏州大学2018年国际青年学者东吴论坛拟定于4月8日至4月10日召开。本次论坛旨在集聚海内外不同学术背景的优秀青年学者，就国际前沿科技及研究热点展开探讨，促进国际青年学者之间的交流与合作，携手探索科学前沿，共攀学术高峰。
论坛将设置一个主论坛和人文、社会科学、生命医学、理科和工科五个分论坛，诚邀海内外优秀青年学者报名参加。
The forum will commence on April 8 and conclude on April 10. It is aimed at gathering outstanding young international scholars from different academic backgrounds in order to promote their communication, exploration of frontier scientific issues and their progress toward greater academic achievements.
The forum consists of a main forum and 5 parallel forums on the humanities, social sciences, life medicine, science, and engineering, respectively.
1.年龄一般应在40周岁以下（1978年1月1日以后出生）。
2.国内受邀者应具备下列条件之一： "青年千人计划"入选者；"万人计划"青年拔尖人才；"长江学者"青年学者；"国家优秀青年科学基金"获得者；或达到相应水平的优秀人才。
3.海外受邀者应具备下列条件：具有海外知名大学博士学位；或者具有国内博士学位，并有2年以上连续海外科研工作经历。
1. Under the age of 40 (born after January 1, 1978);
2. (applicable to scholars in China) title holders of the "1000 Youth Talents Plan", or of the "10000 Youth Talents Program", or of "Youth Changjiang Scholars", or receivers of the "National Eminent Youth Science Fund", or other young eminent scholars at the same level;
3. (Applicable to overseas scholars)doctorate holders from prestigious universities overseas or doctorate holders from Chinese universities who have work experience overseas for 2 or more consecutive years.
我校对于达到相应水平的优秀人才待遇如下：
1.岗位：教授、博士生导师。
2.薪酬：35-60万元+论文、项目奖励，上不封顶。
3.安家补贴：250-380万（含地方政府给予100-200万元配套补贴）。
4.学术启动经费：人文社会科学50万，非实验理科60-80万元，实验理、工、医科80-200万元。可根据需要另行提供大型仪器设备费。
5.优先推荐各类人才项目，所获资助根据政策发放。
Soochow University provides the following pay and benefits for the young scholars who join us.
1. Position: Full professor and doctoral supervisor;
2. Pay: RMB350000-600000 annually+ no-ceiling cash reward for papers and projects
3. Settlement benefit: RMB 2.5-3.8 million (inclusive of the 1-2 million supporting benefit from the local government);
4. Academic startup fund: RMB 0.5 million for scholars in the humanities and social sciences, 0.6-0.8 million for scholars in non-experimental science, RMB 0.8-2 million for those in experimental science, engineering and medicine; large-sized equipment and apparatuses to be provided when necessary;
5. Entitlement to programs and funds for eminent scholars. Funds and grants will be effectuated according to related policies.

受邀学者收到正式邮件邀请函后自订机票或车票，我校按经济舱的标准予以实报实销往返机票（报销的最高限额如下：欧美等地1.5万元/人，亚洲国家1万元/人、港澳台或国内0.6万元/人），论坛期间食宿由学校统一安排。
The round economy class fare tickets (maximum: RMB 15000 per person from Europe and America, RMB 10000 per person from Asia and RMB 6000 per person from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and the mainland of China ) will be reimbursed and accommodations provided.
