AmCham China Leadership met with US Ambassador to China Nicholas Burns

今年，中国美国商会同中美两国政府开展了一系列高层对话活动，持续发挥商会作为推动两国经贸往来的桥梁作用，促进双边经贸关系不断发展。今年商会的政策建言亮点包括：在北京出席参与贸促会建会70周年总理座谈活动、在华盛顿特区拜会秦刚大使、以及与中国各部委高层官员的数次会晤。在拜会美国政府方面，自美国驻华大使尼古拉斯·伯恩斯今年春天抵达中国以来，商会领导已与他多次会面。中国美国商会将继续通过线上“华盛顿敲门”之旅与美国政府高层官员保持沟通。

AmCham China has held a series of high-level engagements with both the US and Chinese governments this year, continuing the Chamber's vision of promoting constructive and sustainable US-China economic relations. Highlights in 2022 include meetings with Premier Li Keqiang in Beijing, Ambassador Qin Gang in Washington DC, and several meetings with top officials from various Chinese ministries. On the US side, we have met a number of times with US Ambassador to China Nicholas Burns since his arrival in China this spring and we continue to meet with senior US government officials in our ongoing DC Outreach campaign.

10月28日，在与中国国务委员兼外交部部长王毅会面的同一天，美国驻华大使尼古拉斯·伯恩斯与中国美国商会领导层会面并探讨了美国商界在华发展的首要担忧与诉求。

On Oct 28, the same day he met with PRC State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Ambassador Burns also sat down with the AmCham China leadership to discuss matters of top priority within the US business community.

11月1日下午，中国美国商会率领部分会员企业代表参加了以 “聚焦二十大 共谋新发展” 为主题的国家发展改革委与美在华跨国企业高层圆桌会。国家发展改革委国际司副司长高健，中国新闻社副总编辑兼中国新闻网总裁俞岚等出席会议并致辞。中国发展改革报社社长徐强围绕学习贯彻二十大报告最新精神作主题报告。国家发展改革委外资司副司长夏晴、环资司副司长赵鹏高分别就《关于以制造业为重点促进外资扩增量稳存量提质量的若干政策措施》、《鼓励外商投资产业目录（2022年版）》以及碳达峰碳中和 “1+N”政策体系作等话题做主旨发言。会上，外资司、环资司、国际司及国际合作中心等有关负责同志回答了企业现场提问，并就双方共同关注的话题进行深入交流。

On the afternoon of November 1, AmCham China led representatives from member companies to attend the NDRC and US Multinational Enterprises Roundtable Meeting, with the theme 'New Journey, Further Development'. Mr. Gao Jian, Deputy Director General of the Department of International Cooperation of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), and Ms. Yu Lan, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of China News Service and President of China News, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Xu Qiang, President of China Development and Reform News, gave a report on the topic of learning and implementing the latest spirit of the 20th National Congress Report. Mr. Xia Qing, Deputy Director General of the Department of Foreign Capital and Overseas Investment of NDRC and Mr. Zhao Penggao, Deputy Director General of the Department of Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection of NDRC gave keynote speeches respectively on topics of "Several Policy Measures to Promote the Increase and Stabilization of Foreign Investment with a Focus on Manufacturing Industry", "Catalogue of industries of encouraging foreign investment (2022 edition)" and "1+N" policy framework of emission peak and carbon neutrality, and more. During the meeting, speakers from the Department of Foreign Capital and Overseas Investment, the Department of Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection, the Department of International Cooperation and The International Cooperation Center answered questions from the enterprises and engaged in discussions of common concerns.

会前，商会总裁何迈可向国家发展改革委国际司副司长高健呈递了2022年版《美国企业在中国白皮书》。何迈可表示商会希望继续发挥桥梁作用，与国家发展改革委保持紧密沟通，助力持续优化中国营商环境。

Before the meeting, AmCham China President Michael Hart delivered the 2022 American Business in China White Paper to Mr. Gao Jian, Deputy Director of International Department of NDRC. Hart said that AmCham China hopes to continue to be a bridge for constructive commercial engagement between the US and China, and maintain close communication with NDRC to help optimize the business environment for foreign enterprises in China.
