SHENZHEN Airlines has added and intensified nearly 40 routes in its summer and autumn schedule, which officially took effect Friday.

Among the routes, the airline will add routes to Urumqi, Lanzhou via Maotai, and Altay Prefecture in northern Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region via Zhengzhou.

At the same time, the airline will add flights from Shenzhen to Beijing, Shanghai and Chongqing. It will also add four routes from Huizhou to Xi’an, Nanchang, Wenzhou and Zhanjiang.

Altay in northern Xinjiang is known for Kanas Lake, which is located in a valley in the Altai Mountains. The lake was formed around 200,000 years ago as a result of glacial movement during the Quaternary period.

By October, Shenzhen Airlines owned a fleet of nearly 200 commercial aircraft. Six wide-body A330 will be put into use this year. By 2020, the airline’s fleet of passenger and cargo planes will number 230.

Thanks to Shenzhen Airlines’ membership in Star Alliance, passengers flying with it or other member airlines can reach 1,300 destinations in 190 countries and regions.
