BANTIANYUN Village, an ancient village located on the mountainside of a 426-meter-high mountain in Dapeng New Area, is planned to be relocated except for some valuable historic buildings, the Shenzhen Economic Daily reported.

The village is known as the ancient village with the highest altitude above sea level in Shenzhen. In 2006, it was selected as one of the most beautiful villages with natural ecologies in Guangdong.

The whole built-up area of the village is within Fengmulang reservoir, a first-level drinking water source protection area in the city.

The relocation of Bantianyun Village, as well as the river improvement projects of the Xinda, Nan’ao, Dadui and Yangmeikeng rivers, are among the major tasks for Nan’ao Subdistrict this year.

Land expropriation and transfer of the four projects covers 3.99 million square meters. The demolition of houses covers 39,800 square meters.
