SMBU, Russian art media school collaborate

SHENZHEN MSU-BIT University (SMBU) and «Art Media Education» Arina Sharapova’s School (Russian art media school) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to cooperate on art and media education programs via video link yesterday.


Li Hezhang, rector of SMBU, said during yesterday’s signing ceremony in SMBU that their students have shown a high level of enthusiasm for a series of art classes at the university’s art center.

Li hoped that the two sides could take the opportunity to jointly cultivate talents by utilizing the two sides’ resources and contribute to the two countries’ art and media education.


SMBU planned to launch professional courses, short-term exchange programs and lectures with the art media school and invite the school’s teachers to participate in SMBU art center’s activities as well as the design of media studies majors, according to Li.

«Art Media Education» Arina Sharapova’s School, led by renowned Russian TV presenter and journalist Arina Sharapova, has cultivated tens of thousands of media workers. With an eight-year history, the school now has over 200 media studies teachers.


Sharapova said via video link that the school aims to provide the best teachers and educational resources to SMBU students under the cooperation.


Sergey Shakhray, first vice rector of SMBU, introduced SMBU to Sharapova and the representatives from the art media school via video link at the ceremony.


Built on the important consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin, SMBU is a nonprofit Chinese-foreign cooperative university jointly founded by the Shenzhen Municipal Government, Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) and Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) with an independent legal entity status.
