Dinosaur Park Officially Opens in Beijing
By Justine Lopez
Beijing’s largest dinosaur park is officially open to the public. And for anyone who grew up watching Jurassic Park, this is kind of exciting.
The Ancient Exploration dinosaur park was unveiled at Shijingshan Amusement Park on May 21, China Daily reports. The occasion also marked the 30th anniversary of the amusement park.
Judging from the pictures, we have to admit that Beijing's newest park looks a bit underwhelming. But we’re all about doing quirky things in Beijing, so we'll go with it.
Visitors can check out 60 dinosaurs – including the tyrannosaurus rex, pterosaur and diplodocus – at the 20,000-square-meter park.
The park also features an interactive area where visitors can experience the natural habitat (or something like it?) of the ancient creatures. Virtual reality is also used to bring the dinosaurs to life.
It’s possible to participate in games and role play as a hunter. There is also a glass viewing bridge, a manmade beach and tree houses.
