Hundreds of Flights Canceled in Beijing Due to Rain
Hundreds of flights have been canceled and delayed in Beijing and Tianjin due to severe thunderstorms and heavy downpours, South China Morning Post reports.
According to meteorologists, the two cities are currently experiencing the heaviest rainfall of the summer. And the weather is having a serious impact on flights to and from the capital.
Beijing Capital International Airport canceled roughly 120 flights scheduled to depart from Beijing from midnight to 11pm today (Wednesday). No flights have departed from or arrived at Tianjin Binhai International Airport since 3am today.
In a statement released by Beijing Capital International Airport, heavy rainfall is expected to occur until 3pm today. Showers will continue until 10pm. According to officials at Binhai Airport, weather could likely impact flights until 4pm.
