Mimi e Coco’s latest food project is all about showcasing the best amateur chefs in Beijing. That’s right, starting on Thursday they will be handing their kitchen over to Beijing’s best wannabe chefs. During these special occasions, each chef will prepare a 3-course gourmet dinner for up to 10 people, and Mimi e Coco will take care of the drinks. Expect a range of cuisines in the future, but for this first event a Mediterranean-inspired menu will be served.

Thurs Mar 2, 7.30-9.30pm; RMB197 (two starters, a main, a dessert and a glass of wine with each course). Mimi e Coco, 64 Fangjia Hutong, Dongcheng 东城区方家胡同64号(8401 6288)

Thu Mar 2-Sun Mar 12, 7.30pm; RMB180-680; National Theater Company of China, 277 Guang’anmen Waidajie, Xicheng 西城区广安门外大街277号 (tickets via www.douban.com)
