星空间将于2023年1月15日至2月28日推出孙玛侬的个人项目“小大人”（Les mômes）。在她的系列绘画中，可以看到艺术家对于寻常材料的非常规用法。容易擦洗的软质透明PVC桌布，既是承载彩色卡纸、蜡笔、丙烯所制造的笔触的物质支撑，又是塑封、存储描绘对象的动态的保护层。平铺在地面而非画架完成的十米长卷，在工作方法上融合了壁画、布面绘画、街头涂鸦的空间感与临时性。孙玛侬试图通过材料的直接和实验逃离绘画的传统与教育体制，特别是从起稿到结束的标准流程。与此同时，她将创作兴趣聚焦在捕捉儿童的情绪切换，塑造他们身处社交环境时产生的捉摸不定的心理活动。“小大人”是艺术家借助绘画语言与少年视角观察成人世界游戏规则所创造的中间地带。
Les Mômes
Introduction by Miao Zijin
Star Gallery is pleased to present “Les mômes”, Sun Manon’s first solo project, from 15th January to 28th February 2023. In her series of paintings, the artist’s uncommon use of ordinary materials can be seen. The soft, transparent PVC tablecloths, which can be easily cleaned, serve both as a material support for the brushstrokes made by colored paper, crayons, and acrylics, and as a protective layer for coating and storing the dynamics of the depicted figures. The ten-meter scrolls, completed by laying flat on the floor rather than on an easel, integrated the spatial and improvised nature of mural painting, canvas painting, and graffiti in terms of working methods. Sun Manon attempts to escape the convention and education system of painting through the directness and experimentation of materials, especially the standard painting process from draft to finish. Meanwhile, she focuses her interest in capturing the emotional switches of children, shaping the elusive mental activities that arise when they are placed in social situations. “Les mômes” is a mid-ground created by the artist through the language of painting and the juvenile perspective of the rules played in the adult world.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
孙玛侬，出生于法国巴黎。2012年与家⼈定居中国。2015 年毕业于中国美术学院附中、2019年毕业于中央美术学院本科生壁画系第三工作室、2022年毕业于中央美术学院研究生油画系第三工作室。她喜欢通过创作描绘儿童，从生活中捕捉一些无关紧要的事，寻找人物本身散发的某些情绪并在绘画的过程中将其放大。她的作品常常平铺在地面完成，把多种媒介当作画笔，试图强行给自己的创作添加一些不舒服，自由又失控的氛围。
参与的部分展览包括：“锐气来袭——央美毕业生邀请展（第一回)”（遇见博物馆静安馆，上海，2022）；“局部城市”（瓦美术馆 ，北京，2021）；“候鸟三百”（阿那亚，河北，2021）“当速度成为形式，在屏幕里生活”（山中天艺术中心，北京，2020）；“传统，现在和未来”（Art·des画廊，北京，2019）；“毕业歌”（方圆美术馆，北京，2019）；“你好！艺术家”（今日美术馆，北京，2019）；“Favorite Pratice”学院本色（中国美术学院美术馆，杭州，2018）；“青春·足迹”（中央美术学院，北京，2017）；“INTER-YOUTH国际青年绘画展”（中国美术学院，杭州，2016）。《The Tooth Fairy》获得毕业作品一等奖，并被中央美术学院美术馆收藏（2019）。
Sun Manon was born in Paris, France. In 2012, She settled in China with her family. She graduated from the High School Attached to China Academy of Art (CAA) in 2015, Studio 3 of the Mural Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) in 2019, and Studio 3 of the Oil Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2022. She likes to depict children, capturing some insignificant things from life, looking for certain emotions exuded by the characters themselves and amplifying them in the process of painting. Her works are often done flat on the ground, using various media as brushes. Imposing the uncomfortable on her practice, the paintings create an atmosphere which seems both free and out-of-control.
Her recent exhibitions include: “Sharp Edge—The Invitational Exhibition of CAFA Graduates First Round”（Meet You Museum Jing'an, Shanghai, 2022); “Topo-Urbanism” (WA Art. Architecture Museum , Beijing, 2021); “Migratory Birds 300” (Aranya, Hebei, 2021); “When Speed Becomes Form-Live In Your Screen” (Wind H Art Center, Beijing, 2020); “Tradition, Present and Future” (Art·des Gallery, Beijing, 2019); “Ode of Graduation” (Fangyuan Art Gallery, Beijing, 2019); “Hello! Artist” (Today Art Museum, Beijing, 2019); “Favorite Pratice” (Art museum of China Academy of Art, Hangzhou, 2018); “Youth Footprint” (Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing, 2017); “INTER-YOUTH International Youth Painting Exhibition” (China Academy of Art, Hangzhou, 2016). “The Tooth Fairy” won the first prize of graduation work and was collected by the CAFA Art Museum (2019).

ABOUT THE CURATOR
缪子衿，独立策展人。先后毕业于伦敦艺术大学传媒学院创意广告战略专业、 伦敦大学金史密斯学院策展专业。曾任职于《艺术界LEAP》、泰康空间。她的研究兴趣包括:后媒介与数字基建状况下的艺术生产和流通，替代性空间与艺术家自我组织，在场域特定的策展实践中持续测试权力关系的边界，特别是治理的技术与展示的政治。

Miao Zijin is an independent curator. She studied at London College of Communication (BA Creative Advertising Strategy) and Goldsmiths, University of London (MFA Curating). She worked at LEAP magazine and Taikang Space. Her research interests include art production and circulation in the post-medium condition in relation to digital infrastructure, alternative spaces and self-organization. She treats curatorial practice as a site-specific testing ground which deals with power relations, especially the technology of governance and the politics of display.
