据中国载人航天工程办公室介绍，4月2日8时15分左右，天宫一号目标飞行器已再入大气层，再入落区位于南太平洋中部区域，绝大部分器件在再入大气层过程中烧蚀销毁。

‍China's first space lab, Tiangong-1, re-entered the Earth's atmosphere at 8:15 a.m. BJT (0015GMT) on Monday, China Manned Space Engineering Office (CMSEO) said.

It mostly burnt up in the atmosphere when it re-entered the atmosphere over the central area of the southern Pacific Ocean, according to the CMSEO.

From launch to burning, Tiangong-1 completed a series of groundbreaking missions, including six dockings with three Shenzhou spacecrafts, two of which are manned, making great contributions to China's space program.

The following is a quick review of some most notable moments throughout Tiangong-1's service.

Launch

2011年9月29日21时16分，天宫一号于酒泉卫星发射中心发射升空。它的发射标志着中国拥有了自己的空间实验室。

Tiangong-1 launched from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center and was successfully placed into low Earth orbit on Sept. 29, 2011.

Autonomous orbital docking

2011年11月3日凌晨，神舟八号飞船与天宫一号成功实现首次空间交会对接。

The unmanned Shenzhou-8 spacecraft successfully docked with Tiangong-1 on Nov. 3, 2011, marking China's first orbital docking.

Manned missions

Shenzhou-9

2012年6月18日,神舟九号飞船与天宫一号目标飞行器顺利实现自动交会对接，连接成组合体共同飞行，随后景海鹏、刘旺、刘洋3名航天员进驻天宫一号。

The manned Shenzhou-9 spacecraft launched successfully on June 16, 2012, carrying with it China's first female astronaut, Liu Yang, and docked with Tiangong-1 on June 18, 2012.

The first docking was entirely computer-controlled.

A second crew-guided docking was successfully conducted on June 24, 2012.

Shenzhou-10

2013年6月13日，天宫一号目标飞行器与“神舟十号”飞船成功实现自动交会对接，随后聂海胜、张晓光、王亚平3名航天员通过对接通道从飞船进入天宫一号，开展相关空间科学实验和技术试验等活动。

6月23日,在航天员聂海胜的精准操控和张晓光、王亚平的密切配合下，天宫一号目标飞行器与神舟十号飞船成功实现手控交会对接。

The manned Shenzhou-10 spacecraft launched on June 11, 2013, with China's second female astronaut, Wang Yaping aboard. Shenzhou-10 docked successfully with Tiangong-1 on June 13.

The crew of Shenzhou-10 completed China's first orbital maintenance operation, replacing Tiangong-1's interior cladding, on June 23, 2013.

What is also worth remembering is that the three crew carried on teaching in Tiangong-1, showing physical phenomena such as object movement and liquid surface tension in the weightless environment.

Orbit decay

2016年3月16日，天宫一号正式终止数据服务，全面完成历史使命，进入轨道衰减期。

Tiangong-1 had seen its orbit decay since it ended its data service on March 16, 2016.
