Orange the world

The 25-year-old Japanese model first accused Jiang of domestic violence via her Instagram account on November 20 with photos showing bruises on her face and neck. In response, Jiang also published a statement on Weibo, admitting to the accusation. He apologized to Nakaura for hurting her and his parents and friends for disappointing them.

In China, Jiang's abuse scandal has been heavily debated on social media. And there have been several posts among the controversy have attracted public attention with their bright orange colors.

As an international campaign to challenge violence against women and girls, 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence runs every year from November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to December 10, the International Human Rights Day. Participants the world over are encouraged to use orange, the brighter and warm color, to stand for a world free from violence against women and girls.
According to the UN, forms of violence against women and girls (VAWG) include:
亲密伴侣暴力(殴打、心理虐待、婚内强奸、杀害女性);
Intimate partner violence (battering, psychological abuse, marital rape, femicide);
暴力和性骚扰(强奸、强迫性行为、不受欢迎的性挑逗、儿童性虐待、强迫婚姻、街头骚扰、跟踪、网络骚扰);
sexual violence and harassment (rape, forced sexual acts, unwanted sexual advances, child sexual abuse, forced marriage, street harassment, stalking, cyber- harassment);
人口贩运(奴役、性剥削);
human trafficking (slavery, sexual exploitation);
female genital mutilation; and

In reality, most victims of domestic violence do not call for help. According to the UN, less than 40 percent of women who suffer violence in most countries have sought help, and less than 10 percent have called the police.
In China, victims do not call the police until they have experienced an average of 35 domestic violence incidents, according to the Beijing News.
Fortunately, things are improving all around the world, including China.

The UK passed new laws against domestic violence at the end of 2015. Monitoring and controlling partners through social media and internet has been included in the new laws.
In 2017, a group of men called the New Men Alliance, which advocates for women's rights, appeared in Indonesia. Some members of the group have worn miniskirts to protest against government officials' claims that "women should avoid wearing miniskirts on public transport if they want to prevent harassment" and to address the root causes of sexual harassment.

The "White Ribbon" movement, which originated in Canada, encourages men to wear white ribbons as a symbol for promising never to engage in violence against women and never to remain silent about violence against women.
Twenty-three years ago, the "Outline for the Development of Chinese Women (1995-2000)" issued by China's State Council explicitly used the concept of "domestic violence" for the first time.

Not all victims of domestic violence resort to divorce. Many choose silence, tolerance, and hiding, but the "Anti-Domestic Violence Law" stipulates relative constraint and rules of protection, such as implementing a "Personal Safety Protective Order."
