China Media Group (CMG), the predominant radio and television broadcaster in China, announced its first regional bureau - the Yangtze River Delta Regional Bureau - and its first municipal bureau - the Shanghai Bureau – officially starts operation on Sep.26th.

After almost a year of preparation, CMG's Shanghai Bureau is ready to welcome all partners. CMG's President Shen Haixiong said on September 26, 2018, Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a letter to congratulate CCTV on its 60th anniversary and the birth of China's TV industry. President Xi highly praised the achievements made since the establishment of the station and encouraged the station to strive to build a world-class mainstream media with strong leadership, communication and influence. The official operation of CMG's first regional bureaus is the latest move to achieve this goal.
Located in Xuhui district of Shanghai, Shanghai Bureau's total construction area is about 265,000 square meters with a total of 8 buildings including 100,000 square meters of 5A office space, 23,000 square meters of cultural venues and 50,000 square meters of commercial space.
The CMG's copyright operation, the sports industry, the film and television projects, the ultra-high-definition programs, and the cultural and creative projects will be deployed in Shanghai bureau. Shanghai Bureau is expected to become one of Shanghai's new landmarks.
The signing ceremony for some major projects was also held at the event site. CMG and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government jointly signed a cooperation agreement for the "National Multilingual movie and TV Translation & Production Base". Related sides also signed agreements on copyright cooperation, financial services, commercial development, and catering.
