外交部召见美国驻华大使 就美签署涉港法案提出严正交涉
外交部副部长乐玉成28日召见美国驻华大使布兰斯塔德，就美“香港人权与民主法案”签署成法提出严正交涉和强烈抗议。
乐玉成强调，中方强烈敦促美方纠正错误、改弦更张，不得将该法案付诸实施，立即停止插手香港事务、干涉中国内政，以免给中美关系和两国重要领域合作造成更大损害。对美方的错误举措，中方必将予以坚决反制，由此导致的一切后果由美方完全负责。
Chinese Foreign Ministry summoned the U.S. ambassador on Thursday to protest against the U.S. president signing Hong Kong-related bills, warning of "strong countermeasures" and a deterioration of bilateral relations.
Vice Foreign Minister Le Yucheng told Terry Branstad that the U.S. should stop meddling in China's internal affairs, warning it would seriously damage bilateral ties.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump signed the so-called Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act of 2019 into law."The move is a severe interference in Hong Kong affairs, which are China's internal affairs. It is also in serious violation of the international law and basic norms governing international relations. The Chinese government and the people firmly oppose such stark hegemonic acts," Le said.
"We urge the United States not to continue going down the wrong path, or China will take countermeasures and the U.S. must bear all the consequences," he said.
The Chinese government is determined in opposing external forces interfering in Hong Kong affairs, implementing the "One Country, Two Systems" principle and safeguarding national sovereignty, security and development interests, he added.
外交部回应：赤裸裸的霸权行径
美方将所谓“香港人权与民主法案”签署成法，此举严重干预香港事务，严重干涉中国内政，严重违反国际法和国际关系基本准则，是赤裸裸的霸权行径，中国政府和人民坚决反对。
香港回归祖国以来，“一国两制”取得举世公认的成功，香港居民依法享有前所未有的民主权利。美方罔顾事实、颠倒黑白，公然为疯狂打砸烧、残害无辜市民、践踏法治、危害社会秩序的暴力犯罪分子撑腰打气，性质极其恶劣，用心十分险恶，其根本目的是破坏香港繁荣稳定，破坏“一国两制”伟大实践，破坏中华民族实现伟大复兴的历史进程。
The Chinese Foreign Ministry warned the U.S. of the consequences of China's countermeasures if it continues to "act arbitrarily".
The ministry condemned in a statement that the act is a gross interference in China's internal affairs, a gross violation of international law and basic norms governing international relations, and a naked act of hegemony, which the Chinese government and people firmly oppose.
The statement strongly urges the U.S. not to implement the bills, warning the move may influence bilateral cooperation in major areas.
"The 'One Country, Two Systems" principle has achieved success since Hong Kong's return, and Hong Kong residents have enjoyed unprecedented democratic rights in accordance with the law," the statement stressed, adding that U.S. efforts to sabotage the principle were "doomed to fail".
香港特区政府：强烈反对涉港法案成为美国法律
香港特区政府28日表示，对所谓“香港人权与民主法案”及另外一项有关香港的法案成为美国法律表示强烈反对，并对美方无视港方多次就两项法案提出的切实关注表示极度遗憾。两项法案明显干预香港内部事务，既无必要，也毫无理据，更会损害香港和美国之间的关系和利益。
特区政府发言人重申，外国政府及议会不应以任何形式干预香港特别行政区的内部事务。
发言人表示，两项法案并不合理，其中的“香港人权与民主法案”以人权及民主为名，实际上部分条文涉及出口管制和香港执行联合国制裁措施，与香港的人权和民主根本无关。两项法案更会向示威者发出错误信息，无助缓和香港局势。
The government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Thursday also expressed its "strong opposition and disappointment" towards the act.In a media release issued Thursday morning, the HKSAR government said the two bills, which count as meddling in Hong Kong affairs, were "unnecessary and unwarranted" and would harm the U.S.-Hong Kong relations and common interests.Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong Thursday pointed out the long-lasting radical violent actions happened in Hong Kong which seriously harmed public security, trampled the rule of law and damaged Hong Kong's prosperity and stability, have severely challenged the bottom line of "One Country, Two Systems."It condemned the U.S. of supporting the rioters and fueling the tensions, demanding the U.S. to stop interfering with Hong Kong affairs and push forward the trade relations with Hong Kong.

The Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of China's State Council on Thursday strongly condemned the signing of the so-called Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act of 2019 into law by the United States.
Facts have proven that the U.S. is the biggest black hand in messing up Hong Kong, said a statement released by the department.
The future and destiny of Hong Kong are always in the hands of the Chinese people, the statement said.The liaison office of the Chinese central government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) echoed in a statement expressing the utmost indignation and condemnation against the act being signed into law.
China will continue to resolutely implement the principle of "One Country, Two Systems" and firmly support the chief executive in leading the HKSAR government, and firmly support the Hong Kong police in strictly enforcing the law, the statement stressed.The Office of the Commissioner of the Chinese Foreign Ministry in the HKSAR echoed on Thursday, saying that the act confounds right with wrong and is an epitome of gangster logic.
"Its aim is to condone violent crime, destruct Hong Kong and the 'One Country, Two Systems,' and prevent Chinese people from realizing the great rejuvenation of the nation," the office said.
Such an attempt is nothing but a pipe dream, the office added, stressing that Chinese people, including Hong Kong compatriots, will never accept it, nor will the international community.
