1月9日0-24时，31个省（自治区、直辖市）和新疆生产建设兵团报告新增确诊新冠病例157例。
其中境外输入病例60例（上海26例，广东8例，云南6例，福建5例，天津4例，浙江3例，广西3例，辽宁2例，河南1例，湖南1例，四川1例），含4例由无症状感染者转为确诊病例（浙江2例，湖南1例，四川1例）；本土病例97例（河南60例，其中郑州市24例、许昌市21例、安阳市15例；天津21例，均在津南区；陕西15例，均在西安市；广东1例，在深圳市）。
The Chinese mainland recorded 157 confirmed COVID-19 cases on Sunday, with 97 linked to local transmissions and 60 from overseas, data from the National Health Commission showed on Monday.
A total of 42 new asymptomatic cases were also recorded, and 699 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

8日，河南安阳市在主动检测人群中筛查发现2例本土新冠病毒核酸阳性个案。9日经河南省疾控中心实验室病毒全基因组测序，显示2例本土病例感染病毒均为奥密克戎变异株BA.1分支，经分析比对，与天津市津南区现有本地疫情属同一传播链。
结合流行病学调查和基因测序结果，基本锁定安阳市本次疫情的感染来源为2021年12月28日从天津市津南区返回安阳市汤阴县的1名在校大学生。
Two local infections of COVID-19 in Anyang City, central China's Henan Province, are confirmed to be caused by the Omicron variant, which has been classified as a member of Clade BA.1, local authorities said Monday. The two patients are believed to be linked to the same transmission chain as the existing local cases in Jinnan District, north China's Tianjin Municipality, according to the city's publicity department.
Based on the epidemiological investigation and gene sequencing results, the source of the COVID-19 infections in Anyang has been identified as a college student who returned to Tangyin County of Anyang from Tianjin's Jinnan District on Dec. 28, 2021.

China's northern coastal city of Tianjin tightened restrictions on Sunday after over 40 COVID-19 cases, including two local cases of the Omicron variant, were detected.
Citizens have been advised against leaving the municipality, which is about 120 kilometers away from the capital Beijing. A negative PCR test within 48 hours and a green health code are required for those who wish to leave.

专家谈应对奥密克戎
1月8日，在上海举行的光华科技公益论坛上，国家传染病医学中心主任、复旦大学附属华山医院感染科主任张文宏表示，一些自媒体说奥密克戎引发的是“大号流感”，这是缺乏科学依据的。
张文宏研究奥密克戎感染者的医学影像后认为，这种变异株“会咬人”。一个国家和地区需要强大的免疫屏障和医疗资源，才能抵御奥密克戎的威胁。
The notion that the coronavirus variant Omicron has only caused an "enhanced influenza" lacks scientific evidence, Zhang Wenhong, a Shanghai-based Chinese infectious disease specialist, said at an event in Shanghai on Saturday.
After studying medical images of those infected with the variant, Zhang warned that the variant will "bite people."
"Omicron had a battle with the human immune system and won," Zhang said, adding that countries and regions need to build a strong immunologic barrier and guarantee enough medical resources to defend against the variant.
中国工程院院士张伯礼表示，此次天津疫情是奥密克戎变异株首次在我国本土社区传播，该病毒确实传染性很强，但症状并不明显，隐匿性也强，更容易多点散发或集中暴发。同时，此次天津疫情也表现为中小学生等低龄感染群体比例较高，这也是奥密克戎变异株表现出的新特点，值得我们高度警惕和应对。
