专访巴基斯坦外长：中国是最早挺身而出的国家

自6月中旬以来，季风导致的强降雨在巴基斯坦引发罕见洪灾，已造成数千人伤亡，受灾人口超过3300万。巴基斯坦25日宣布进入紧急状态。

巴基斯坦外交部长比拉瓦尔·布托在接受CGTN欧洲区域制作中心主播吉米专访时表示，中国是最早挺身而出的国家，将提供2.5万顶帐篷和其他财政支持。

拉瓦尔在采访中表示，对巴中经贸合作的长期前景，特别是中巴经济走廊的建设，充满期待。

“与中国的关系不仅是巴基斯坦外交政策的基石，也是我们经济政策的基石。我们都非常希望看到中巴经济走廊充分发挥其潜力。”

8月24日，中国外交部发言人表示，中方在中巴经济走廊社会民生合作框架下提供的帐篷、毛毯、防水篷等储备物资已悉数投入救灾一线。另外，中方追加的2.5万顶帐篷及其他巴方急需救灾物资在内的新一批紧急人道主义援助，将在8月30日之前运抵。

China is one of the first to step forward and provide help after monsoon rains-triggered floods devastated Pakistan, said Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Monday.

“They are already sort of halfway through arrangements for clarity, provided about 10,000 tents and other assistance,” said the foreign minister during an interview with CGTN Europe, adding that with the increased devastation and the recent monsoon rains, China has again pledged financial support and additional tents and relief materials.

While speaking of the future rebuilding after the disaster, the foreign minister also expressed confidence in the relationship between China and Pakistan.

He called the relationship with China a cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy as well as economic policy, saying that he is keen to see the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor achieve its full potential.

China has already provided 4,000 tents, 50,000 blankets and 50,000 pieces of waterproof canvas, which have been delivered to the frontlines of disaster relief in Pakistan, noted a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson on Wednesday.

The spokesperson added that another batch of emergency humanitarian supplies, including 25,000 tents and other supplies in dire need are expected to arrive soon.
