We have a new website and, just quietly, it's looking pretty snazzy. We're more than just a pretty face, though – this new site packs some very useful new bits and pieces. Allow us to show you some of the new features.
Book event tickets with Time Out Tickets
You can now book tickets to Beijing's hottest events with Time Out. We've got everything from concerts and theatre to festivals and stand-up comedy. Some of our favourites on sale right now are the China Open, the Blue Man Group and Disney on Ice!
All of the booking process is in English and you can pay with foreign or domestic bank cards and, of course, WeChat Wallet. We'll be adding more and more over the coming weeks, so keep an eye on the Time Out Tickets page.
Book cinema tickets at fantastic rates
Time Out Tickets also offers preferential rates at cinemas across the city. Have a look at the latest releases and buy your tickets with us. Again, everything's in English and you can use foreign or domestic payment methods.
Book a hotel
You can now book over 1,000 hotels with Time Out, including the Waldorf Astoria.
We've teamed up with Ctrip to bring you a huge database of the city's best hotels with up-to-date information. What's more, you can book that staycation through our new site.
Book a restaurant table
Make a restaurant booking through Time Out.
You can now also make a restaurant booking through Time Out. Right now the selection is limited, but we'll be adding many more restaurants soon.
Stay up to date with the latest Beijing news
Our new blog bar will now be updated several times a day. We'll still have the great blog articles you've come to expect from Time Out, but we'll also be posting regular short updates on the bar itself so we can keep you in the loop with everything from great new events we've posted on the site to smog warnings.
We figure you don't need to read a 300-word treatise on how it's going to rain later, or how a certain foreign film won't be coming to China after all – you just want the info. 'Okay, it's going to piss it down and there's no Ghostbusters. Got it.' That's what our new blog bar will provide: all killer, no filler.
A host of new sections
We've got a few new sections on the site, including LGBT (about time!), Sex and Dating, and Living in Beijing (a bunch of useful resources for Beijing newbies). We've also divided 'Books and Film' into two different sections. Ditto Restaurants and Bars.
AQI forecasts
At the top of the site you can see what the AQI (air quality index) is right now. Hover over the little face and you'll see a weather forecast for the next few days as well as a pollution forecast. Trust us – it's scarily accurate.
