Win a ticket to this renegade Shanghai supper club
Shanghai Supperclub, Hatchery and an amazing guest chef are creating a meal to remember
If refined interpretations of Sichuanese classics sounds like the exact kind of thing you want to cram in your mouth this week, then you're in luck: world-class chef Jenny Gao is bringing her innovative dishes and sense of flair to Beijing for one night only, courtesy of Shanghai Supperclub and Beijing's premier culinary incubator, Hatchery.
Shanghai Supperclub has been running for four years, and in that time has become a pretty big deal down in Shangers, hosting a different guest chef in a new secret location every month. On September 9, they'll be setting up shop at an undisclosed Beijing location to dish up a boozy multi-course dinner, flavoured with Gao's typical panache as well as her cutting-edge blend of fundamental Sichuanese flavours and modern twists and techniques.
Although we promised to keep schtum with regards to the planned menu, we've been assured that it will feature quintessential Gao bites such as her crispy lazi wings and the intriguingly named sweetwater noodles, as well as brand-new dishes devised for the supper club.
If you want to be part of the magic, there are still tickets left at 500RMB a pop; however, we wouldn't slack off as there's limited space and once all seats are filled, they're filled (if you're down, contact eat@shsupperclub.com). However, two of our lucky readers are in with a chance to attend the supper club for free – we've got two of these exclusive tickets to give away!
Simply make sure you're following us on WeChat and reply to this post with your favourite Sichuanese dish, email address and full name to be in with a chance of chowing down with Jenny. Winners will be informed by Wednesday 6 September. Good luck!
