Win tickets to Jing A's brilliant 8x8 beer festival

2017-10-19 TimeOutBeijing

China's first ever collaborative beer festival takes place this November

Anyone who's ever spent even the slightest amount of time in the capital knows that Beijingers get inordinately excited at the prospect of downing large quantities of craft beer. For that reason, we've been particularly pumped about the arrival of two-day beer fest 8x8 Brewing Project.

According to Beijing beer maven Jing A, 8x8 is set to be China's first ever collaborative beer festival where eight breweries from the Pacific Northwest will be paired with eight brilliant breweries from China. None of the foreign beers have ever been available in China before, and may not be after the festival, either. Together, these brewers will then work to develop unique, one-of-a-kind brews, with the fruits of their labour being revealed (and sampled) at the festival.

To win one of four tickets to Jing A's beer extravaganza, simply share this blog on your WeChat moments with the text 'Time Out, I want to drink ALL THE BEER at 8x8', then send a screenshot of your moments to our WeChat account (TimeOutBeijingEN). Entries must be in by midnight on Sunday 22 October, and winners will be notified the following week.

If you haven't won a ticket but would still like to attend, tickets to the festival can also be purchased online. Sessions last for three hours, during which time you can sample an unlimited amount of beer. Breweries getting in on the action include local legends Jing A (of course), Taihu Brewing, Moonzen and Bubble Lab, while the list of foreign invaders features Holy Mountain, Cloudburst Brewing, Gigantic Brewing and more.

To top it all off, there will also be food provided by local favourites Palms LA Kitchen and Bar, Common Burger, barbecue from Jing A Brewpub and street food bites from Pak Pak and Susu.

If sampling beers from around the world sounds like your ideal way to while away an afternoon (like it does for us), make sure you don't miss out. See you in November!
