Kinky Boots is coming to Beijing this August
The Tony Award-winning musical kicks up its heels in Beijing
A musical production that's been seen on Broadway, The West End and more, Kinky Boots is coming to Beijing this summer.
Based on the 2005 film written by Geoff Deane and Tim Firth, Kinky Boots is
inspired by the true story of Charlie Price, a man who inherits a shoe
factory from his father and ends up producing a line of high-heeled
boots in partnership with Lola, a cabaret performer and drag queen.
With
music and lyrics written by Cyndi Lauper, the three-time Tony
Award-winning musical first hit the stage in Chicago in 2012 and has
since been to Australia, Poland and Germany and landed in cities around
Asia such as Tokyo, Seoul and Manila.
The Beijing run of shows
will take place at Tianqiao Performing Arts Centre between August 24 and
30 with tickets priced from 180-980RMB. Early-bird tickets are available until April 30 and are set to go on sale soon.
