The park looks set to make a splash with cheaper tickets than Disney
Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park, the newest addition to Shanghai's growing roster of theme parks, just announced its ticket prices ahead of an anticipated late September opening date. The amusement park and resort has set its prices at 330RMB and 399RMB for standard and peak (weekends, July, August and public holidays) days, respectively. Like Disneyland, there will be cheaper tickets for children between heights of 1-1.4m and seniors aged 65, at 190RMB and 249RMB.
The park looks set to make a big splash with those prices, undercutting Shanghai Disneyland by over 100RMB on peak days. We're told that Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park, once open, will contain water rides, roller coasters and the world's largest collection of marine animal species. We'll see if it lives up to the hype – come next holiday it might just be worth giving the Mouse a pass and getting your feet wet here instead.
