Concerts, stage shows and sports events: get your tickets now

There's some pretty incredible talent heading to Beijing in the next few months. Check out just some of the best tickets you can buy right here, right now for music, stage and sport.

MUSIC

Mild High Club

Omni Space. Sep 14. 200RMB; 160RMB (presale)

A psychedelic group created by LA-based Alexander Brettin, Mild High Club takes some of psych's tastiest elements and fuses them with complex arrangements, some jazzier progressions and funky flourishes. Check out breakout single 'Windowpane' and Steely Dan-esque 'Skiptracing' for tasters.

Slowdive

Tango. Sep 14. 350RMB; 300RMB (presale)

Founded nearly 30 years ago, shoegazers Slowdive know how to create the right mood. The quintet utilises their collective decades of experience to create some truly unique songs, balancing thoughtful basslines with dreamy lyrics.

Kesha

Workers' Gymnasium. Sep 21. 280-1,280RMB; 1,588RMB (VIP)

Debuting at number one on charts around the world, as well as earning international acclaim and gold certifications, Kesha's newest album Rainbow speaks to emotive personal themes, ranging from female empowerment to finding inner forgiveness.

Sam Smith

Cadillac Arena. Oct 25. 480-1,880RMB

Having started out as a guest on dance-pop records, soulful Sam Smith made his own mark on the music world when he began pumping out chart-topping, heartstring-pulling solo ballads. He's got a string of number-one hits to his name at the ripe old age of 26, so fair to say the solo venture went rather well. Latch onto the dreamboat this October and find out for yourself how good he is at goodbyes.

STAGE

Mariinsky Ballet: Swan Lake

NCPA. Sep 20-22. 160-880RMB

Iconic ballet Swan Lake forms the basis of the classical ballet repertoire of the Mariinsky Theater. More than a hundred years ago, it was choreographed by Marius Petipa and is now considered to be a hallmark of the Mariinsky Ballet.

Cats

Century Theatre. Sep 22-Oct 7. 100-1,080RMB

Based on TS Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats, Andrew Lloyd Webber's long-running musical Cats is set in a larger-than-life junkyard playground that's home to a variety of feline characters. With spectacular sets, breathtaking choreography and, of course, the hit song 'Memory', Cats is a musical like no other.

Stomp

Poly Theatre. Sep 26-Oct 5. 180-780RMB

Matchboxes, brooms, garbage cans, Zippo lighters and more fill the stage with energising beats in Stomp, the inventive and invigorating stage show that's dance, music and theatrical performance blended together in one electrifying rhythm.

Rent

Century Theatre. Oct 11, 14, 16-17. 80-880RMB

A re-imagining of Puccini's La Bohème, Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning musical Rent follows a year in the lives of seven impoverished artists struggling to survive in the thriving days of New York City's Alphabet City, under the shadow of HIV/Aids.

SPORT

UFC Fight Night Beijing 2018

Cadillac Arena. Nov 24. 280-16,880RMB

This November, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heads to Beijing for the first time ever (and returns to China for its second time), with heavy-hitters Blaydes and Ngannou set to rematch, and plentiful knuckle (and toe) sandwiches landing in each other's gobs.

NHL China Games 2018

Cadillac Arena. Sep 19. 180-2,180RMB

With the Beijing Winter Olympics on the (distant) horizon, catch the great ice game right here in Beijing as the Boston Bruins take on the Calgary Flames in a pre-season friendly.
