Didi is testing a blacklist function in latest safety measure

Latest Didi security feature test lets you blacklist drivers, or be blacklisted by them

After a late-night service blackout followed by the introduction of a string of new safety features last month, Didi is at it again in an attempt to improve their user experience. This time it's a blacklisting option.

That's right. According to TechNode, from October 18, Didi will be trialling a new feature that will give both drivers and passengers the ability to blacklist each other via the cancelling an order and driver evaluation pages. Better not fart in the car...

If a passenger blocks a driver or vice versa, the two will not be matched again for one year – an idea that would be pretty useful on dating apps to stop you running into your ex, or when you go for a haircut to keep you away from the bad barber who ruined your fringe that time.

The blacklisting function will be available in Chinese only during the trial period and should it be successful, we imagine it will be rolled out across all versions of the app in the near future. Will it make a difference? Who knows. But it's good to see Didi making an effort to be safety conscious and determined to improve their product. We will see how it all pans out.
