Atonement author Ian McEwan will be at The Bookworm tomorrow

The legendary English novelist comes to Beijing


The award-winning author of British literary greats such as Atonement, On Chesil Beach and Amsterdam, Ian McEwan comes to The Bookworm this Sunday in a one-off appearance discussing his influential body of work with writer Alec Ash (Wish Lanterns).

Featured on The Times list of 'The 50 greatest British writers since 1945', McEwan has been nominated for the Man Booker Prize six times, winning the prize for Amsterdam in 1998, and was also awarded a CBE (Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) in 2000. A stunning 11 of his works have also been adapted into film, including Atonement, the 2007 Oscar-winning film starring Keira Knightley and James McAvoy, 2017’s On Chesil Beach (starring Saoirse Ronan) and The Children Act (starring Emma Thompson), also released last year.
