Beijing's music scene frequently attracts some of the best names in music, both locally and from abroad, and September is no different. Don't miss the chance to rock out with a bunch of brilliant artists, right in your own backyard.

Sulis Club

Indie rockers Sulis Club from Hong Kong invade School Bar this evening for the Beijing stop of their current tour in support of Change Your World. The Sulis Club is a Hong Kong four-piece Indie-Rock band passionate about making music by using their own thoughts and musical spirits. Their music combines the elements of Brits-Rock, Japanese Rock, Instrumental rock, and pop-rock. Influenced by Oasis, Jets, Ellegarden, Toe, Hiatus, The Killers, and others.
Julie Byrne

American Julie Byrne's second album 'Not Even Happiness' took her from relative obscurity to all four corners of the globe. Without much time to draw breathe Byrne added passport stamps from most European countries, Scandinavia, Australasia, South America and Asia, as well as extensive jaunts around her homeland.
Lebanon Hangover

Berlin duo Larissa Iceglass and William Maybelline have created a cold-wave post-punk sound with their band Lebanon Hanover. They appear as true romantics of the modern age, admiring William Wordsworth, fascinated by the beauty of art nouveau aesthetics, exploring British seashores and forests at night as well as inspired by the urbanism of Berlin.
The Sino Hearts

Before heading to Europe this month for a touring, festival appearances and also recording their next album, Beijing's own 70s power-pop trio The Sino Hearts are first getting warmed up with a tour kickoff show at School Bar. Opening the night and coming up from Guangzhou are A Reptile Dysfunction, a folky punk outfit filled with energy and play songs that will get you drinking.
Big Lottery China Tour Beijing Stop!

Straight out of Kunming, rockers Big Lottery kick off their 10 city tour of China at School Bar. Formed on Valentine's Day in 2014, the ska-rap rockers ala Rage Against The Machine, Korn, Slipknot, and Limp Bizkit have been making noise down south the past few years and are now ready to show their goods to the rest of China
Kashiwa Daisuke

Born in Hiroshima, Kashiwa Daisuke started off as a composer and guitarist of post-rock band yodaka in 2001. Being inspired by the band’s psychedelic sound and post-rock approach, and by Maurizio Bianchi, he started his solo project in 2004. As a solo artist, his idea is to create not only acoustic, but also electronic filmy soundscapes and atmospheres.

Beijing based British artist brings a fusion of Traditional Chinese instruments with modern, Western Pop and EDM, by combining modern Western Pop and EDM with traditional Chinese instruments such as the guzheng, erhu, pipa, and suona. His concert in Beijing will feature original works inspired by his journey across China, his popular Chinese to English re-writes including ‘If I Stay’, as well as some classic songs performed in Mandarin.
MadeinTYO

MadeinTYO doesn’t have atypical rapper backstory. As the son of a Naval Officer, he moved frequently –traveling from base to base – until his family landed in Tokyo for the duration of his high school years. Inspired by his brother, artist 24hrs, MadeinTYO drew from the foreign culture around him and began to take music seriously. He uploaded his first song to Soundcloud at the age of 22, and a movement was born.

With award nominations, sold-out tours,US and pan-European project collaborations with brands like Apple, Toyota and Google and with over 100 gigs on the European indie music scene, the melodic, explosive, pop-orientated Vita Bergen has made the journey from the underground scene in its small-sized hometown of Gothenburg to the main stages on festivals across Europe.
