We are looking for a talented Managing Editor to join the Time Out Beijing team in our noble pursuit of covering the very best of the city. The successful candidate will be an experienced writer with a background in digital and social content production, and an enthusiastic fountain of knowledge on Beijing’s many marvellous offerings. Managing Editor
(Time Out Beijing English)

Job scope

1. Set content direction and content plan for Time Out Beijing’s English platforms. These include: Time Out Beijing website, WeChat, Facebook and Instagram, Time Out Family seasonal magazine, WeChat and Facebook

2. Run a team of in-house and out of house editors to produce content and keep up to date all English platforms. 

3. Proof English copy that goes out on all platforms

4. Produce seasonal print issues of Time Out Family

5. Attend sales calls and events to represent the brand

6. Creating content plan for sales pitches

7. Managing an editorial budget

Prerequisites

1. 2 years experience in producing magazines

2. An English native speaker

3. Familiar with social media best practices

4. Familiar with indesign and working with a designer to produce seasonal issues of Time Out Family. 

5. Experience managing a remote team of in-house editors and freelancers

6. Proficiency in Chinese is a bonus but not essential
