With the new year just around the corner, and with it, the beginning of a new decade, it's only right to mark the occasion in style. As usual, the end-of-year blowouts in Beijing is in no short supply. From swanky-hotel-lounge-turned-dancefloors to down and dirty club nights, check out our picks for ending 2019 on a high note.

Beersmith

Beersmith Gastropub. Tue 31. 5.30pm-late. 300RMB/200RMB (before 9pm)

Beersmith is decked out in purple to throw an NYE bash in tribute to Prince, with their in-house band Soul Shake set to play a special Prince tribute show. A party menu serving steak, oyster, grilled lobster, and other finger food is available for large groups, as well as various champagne packages.

Dada

Dada. Tue 31. 10pm-late. 50RMB

Speaking of 80s disco, DADA is also getting in on the NYE action with founder Ozone behind the decks, joined by DJ Kyle Page who will be spinning an electric mix of disco, post-punk, dark wave, and other crowd-pleasers.

Grand Hyatt Beijing

Red Moon Bar. Tue 31. 7pm-late. Free admission

Count down to 2020 with an energetic live band at the Red Moon bar, and toast to the new year with buy-one-get-one-free on three selected French Champagnes, and free-flow of shots for ladies among other offers. Put on your glitziest outfit for a chance to win the best-dressed prize. 

Jing A

Jing A (Xingfucun & Longfusi). 5pm-late. Free admission

Head to both of Jing A's locations for an absolute banger of deals on food and drinks starting from 5pm. Specials will change every hour in the lead up to midnight with discounts on beers, foods, cocktails and more. Plus, get your first beers for free, if you bring a friend and dress up as a pair.

Kerry Hotel, Beijing

Head to Centro for a night full of non-stop dancing and a chance to win some lavish lucky draw prizes. Their guest DJ Maria and live band will get you swinging into the wee hours of 2020, with an array of drinks and tasty bites to keep the dance-floor fueled all night. Lantern

Described as 'an aural banquet with futuristic techno grooves', Lantern's New Year's Eve blow out (casually titled Genesis 2020 NYE Countdown) invites revelers to journey through time and space with its usual line-up of suspects, including DJs Jackson Lee, Huang Weiwei, Elvis T and loads more. Get your tickets here.

Migas Mercado

Migas Mercado celebrates this NYE by teaming up with Sugar House again, Beijing's raucous party night and DJ community. Party like it isn't winter in Beijing with South African artist Grace Storm tearing up the dancefloor, as well as DJ 4tael and Dirty Dishes dropping some of the hottest RnB and Hip-hop beats. One Third

Gongti nightclub One Third keeps us guessing with its New Year's Eve blow out. All we know is that it's Monopoly-themed, so expect one heck of a scene as it brings the iconic board game to life. One Third is a reliably messy bet though, so attempt your best Mr. Monopoly impression and get out there.

Paulaner Bräuhaus

Paulaner Bräuhaus. Tue 31. 5pm-late. 200RMB

Paulaner Bräuhaus' end-of-year Bavarian bash is packed full of live music, entertainment and lucky draws throughout the night. The entry includes one pint of Paulaner beer, a chance to win the lucky draw with prizes up to 1,000RMB at one of Kempinski hotel's gourmet restaurants.

QMex
