什么是致郁和骚潮？迷幻电子乐队STRFKR为你解读

被称为“玫瑰之城”的波特兰，是美国独立摇滚的圣地，在这里充满了缤纷摇滚乐，STRFKR也是其中之一。组建十年以来他们凭借破碎、灵动、风格独特的音乐，宇宙穿梭般的表演，在缤纷乐章中成为了全球最受关注的现场表演乐队之一。

想必大家都看过电影《超能失控》，这部“屌丝就是屌丝，逆袭了也是悲剧”的电影配上STRFKR致郁和宅男倾向严重的音乐本质，即使是欢乐的舞曲和Disco也拯救不了里面的悲哀。

STRFKR是正式成立于2007年的一支独立摇滚乐队。他们来自位于俄勒冈州的波特兰，成员包括主唱Joshua Hodges、贝斯手Shawn Glassford、鼓手Keil Corcoran以及吉他手Patrick Morris。

在STRFKR成立之前，Hodges曾经发布了一张名为《Sexton Blake》的个人专辑，然后很随性的就以这张专辑的名字命名了乐队，随后又发布了一张专辑叫做《Plays The Hits》。当时的专辑全部发布在了Expunged唱片公司的名下。在那段时间里，Corcoran担任着一个Vegas本地的碾核乐队The Weirding Way的鼓手。

Prior to forming STRFKR, Hodges released a solo album titled Sexton Blake and followed up with an album released under the band name "Sexton Blake" entitled Plays The Hits ! Both albums were released on Expunged Records. During this time Corcoran was the drummer for Vegas-based grindcore band The Weirding Way.

乐队现在的名字“STRFKR”源于乐队早期赞助人Sam Norris的一个玩笑，但是乐队以这个名字获得了快速的发展和成功。对于这一成功的反响，以及代理商的建议下，他们短期将他们的名字换成了Pyramiddd。

The name STRFKR started off as a joke by Sam Norris, an early patron of the band, but the band's success under the name grew rapidly. In response to this success, and with the guidance of a business agent, they briefly changed their name to Pyramiddd, before changing their name back.

2010年的时候，STRFKR发布了声明说他们将会和Polyvinyl唱片公司签约，并且在其旗下发布一张2首歌的EP，还有一张为了2011年3月做准备的完整版专辑。在2011年8月2日，STRFKR宣布Ryan Biornstad将会离开乐队，具体原因不得而知。之后在2012年乐队的名字就改成了现在大家所熟知的STRFKR。

去年的2月10日，乐队发布了单曲《Never Ever》，9个月之后，乐队再发新专辑《Being No One, Going Nowhere》。

In 2010, STRFKR announced that they would be signing with Polyvinyl Records, releasing a two-song EP, and a full album in preparation for March 2011. On August 2, 2011, STRFKR announced that Ryan Biornstad would be leaving the band.The group shortened their name to STRFKR in 2012.

On February 10, 2016, the band released a single titled "Never Ever",while the album Being No One, Going Nowhere was released in November of that year.

《Being No One, Going Nowhere》，作为STRFKR第四张专辑，这个名字在最开始会让你感觉到情绪有点点低落与消沉。但是当这个旋律在你脑海中流动一分钟之后，你会感觉到它的灵魂，你会了解这首歌究竟说明了什么：一个目标。在目前个人化达到极致的时代——沉迷社交的环境中——人们越来越难以摆脱压抑的本性，或者说将将好那一刻你就是沉迷在其中的。当然，在这其中你也可以收获到微不足道的幸福感。虽然这就是为什么，STRFKR的创始人也是主唱Joshua Hodges将他自己放逐在沙漠环境来创作这张唱片，但是他却带着他最伟大的作品从沙漠归来：一组充满让人欲罢不能的节拍，带着让人起耳茧子的副歌的闪闪发亮的舞曲。这些歌曲还被他带进了富有哲学意味的沉思，以及那股子苦尽甘来的雀跃。

“Being No One, Going Nowhere”. The title of STRFKR‘s fourth album may seem bleak at first. But hold it in your head a minute, feel its weight, and you may recognize the phrase for what it is: a goal. In the era of the personal brand — amid the FOMO Age — it’s increasingly hard to shed a stifling sense of self, or to just be in the moment that you’re in. Well, consider this an invitation to get blissfully insignificant. That’s what STRFKR founder Joshua Hodges aimed to do when he exiled himself to the desert to create this record, but he returned with his most significant work yet: a set of darkly glistening dance songs rife with sticky beats, earworming hooks, philosophical heft, and bittersweet beauty.

2007年当Hodges成功开始乐队的生涯，那便是证明他成功的标志。这个名字无论对于他们录制电台还是想要出名来说都不适合。但是这个名字又被赋予了明朗欢脱、充满能量的意味。从STRFKR成立直到今天，他挣扎着使得两种事物并存：暗黑沉重的歌词以及欢快的音乐。Hodges深受Elliott Smith的影响，然而《Being No One, Going Nowhere》的音色更接近于Italo-disco、kosmische musik和Tony Hoffer与Phoenix, Beck and M83音色的混合。英国思想家/评论家Alan Watts，一个东方哲学的奖学金获得者，对于Hodges则是持有另外一种看法——他的声音几乎出现在STRFKR发布过的每一首歌里，包括这张专辑。那就是属于他自己的“空间”，谈及跳脱出对身份的先入为主，在宇宙中寻找属于一个人的小世界，这就是关于Hodges整个生涯的故事：停止原来的尝试——不，开始不再尝试——然后获得成功。

When Hodges started STRFKR in 2007, it was designed to be success-proof. The name was both unfit for radio and a jab at fame-chasers. But the project was also meant to be bright, playful and brimming with energy. He stumbled upon a winning juxtaposition that’s a STRFKR staple to this day: dark (or heavy) lyrics set to happy music. Hodges credits that to Elliott Smith’s influence, although “Being No One, Going Nowhere” has closer sonic kin in Italo-disco, kosmische musik and Tony Hoffer’s work with Phoenix, Beck and M83. English thinker/writer Alan Watts, a scholar of Eastern philosophy, was another muse for Hodges — his voice appears on nearly every STRFKR release, including this one. That’s him on “interspace,” talking about sloughing off preconceived identity to find one’s place in the universe, which is the story of Hodges’ eventual career: stop trying — no, start not trying — and succeed.

没有什么能说明STRFKR是在漫无目的地混日子。正相反，Hodges在脑海中精心的勾勒着这张专辑在舞台上的舞蹈动作。近期搭建的live舞台包括定做的LED墙和手工制作的灯以同步歌曲旋律（当然，还有偶尔穿着宇航员装在人群中“跳水”和“开火车”）加之，他在制作人Jeffrey Brodsky (Yacht, RAC) 的家里住了一个半星期，没日没夜的工作以确保Being No One, Going Nowhere在耳机中的声音就像通过广播发出来的一样清脆悦耳。就算Hodges太过忙于推动独立流行舞曲而没有达到他不插电现场这一目标的可能性，他的理想便代表了一切：“存在即合理。这一瞬间已经足够了。”

None of which is to imply that STRFKR is drifting along aimlessly. To the contrary, Hodges crafted this album’s dance bent with the stage in mind. The live setup these days includes a custom-made LED wall and a homemade light show that syncs with the rhythm of the songs (also, the occasional crowd-surfing astronaut and band-in-drag). Plus, he camped out at the house of producer Jeffrey Brodsky (Yacht, RAC) for a week and a half, working all hours to ensure Being No One, Going Nowhere sounds as crisply booming over PAs as it does in headphones. Even if Hodges is too busy pushing the future of indie dance-pop forward to possibly attain his goal of unplugging, his aspiration is everything: “Existing is it. This moment is enough.”

迷幻、独立、电子、 lo-fi、合成器流行，他们尝试着一切新鲜刺激的元素。这支招人喜欢热门歌曲不少的迷幻电子乐队其实2015年就来中国跟大家见过面，每个现场也是绚烂无比。
