The hotel was designed by famous Japanese architect Arata Isozaki.

There’s much more to behold that the intriguing outer walls though, Jumeriah has 393 rooms, all spacious and tinged with tranditional Chinese elements while remaining very modern. Hailed as ‘the epitome of luxury and elegance’, The Ritz Pudong really is something to behold. The Ritz is well-known for their presidential suites, which unlike many other hotels’, actually hosts presidents.

Pudong’s Ritz was designed by world famous Richard Farnell, making is sleek sophisticated with light touched of 1930s Shanghai Art Deco. One of the reasons the Ritz-Carlton Pudong has such great views: the hotel’s 258 rooms occupy the top 18 levels of a 58-story tower overlooking The Bund. They’ve got all you could ask for and much more: living room, dining room, study, bathroom with sauna room, private gym, walk-in closet, kitchen and on and on. The only thing they don’t have: hmm actually we can’t think of anything. You could have a dinner party in their private dining room which seats up to 12 guests. If that’s boring, go downstairs and drink cocktails at the Martini Bar or pick from their extensive wine selection.

Feel like going out for dinner? You don’t have to look past the elevator; there’s the Sky Lobby, Aura Lounge and Jazz Bar as well as Scena Italian Restaurant, all located on the hotel’s level 52.  Jin Xuan Chinese Restaurant is on level 53 and the ever-stylish Flair Rooftop Restaurant and Bar on level 58. There’s a scene in the movie Spinal Tap where Nigel Tufnel unveils their band’s ‘amp that goes to 11’. We’re not drawing any comparisons, but Wanda Reign on the Bund claims to be a ‘seven-star’ hotel. No expense was spared in the193 luxurious guestrooms, which include 14 unique suites, with incredible views of The Bund, Huangpu River, Pudong skyline and Yu Garden. There’s alsoMARC restaurant,  led by the most legendary Michelin-starred French chef, Marc Meneau. And obviously a seven star hotel needs a night club to match: Club Reign at Wanda Reign on the Bund is for Shanghai Elites only, but maybe you can sneek in during your staycation. If not you’re welcomed to try the Wine & Cigar Bar, the SHUI Spa or the fancy Universe KTV.
