When you talk about beautiful streets, Shanghai is no stranger to that with the cultural-rich Shaoxing road, fashion district Yuyuan road, café and winehouses on Anfu Road, and kitchsey Pan Yu Road. Based on user reviews, popularity indexes we have ranked the 10 most beautiful streets in Shanghai that is Instagram worthy.


No. 10: SHAO XING LU



Highlights: Du Yuesheng residence, Leslie Cheung’s favorite bookstore, cultural themed cafe


On the 480m stretch of road, find unique café, art gallery and publication house, and be lost in the artsy street.



Previously a French Residence, some ex-residents include Chinese mob boss, Du Yuesheng, who owned the No. 27 bungalow. Famous for its contribution to the  publication scene, one of its bookestore was Hong Kong’s singer Leslie Cheung’s favorite haunt, and the street is home to the publication house for Gushi Hui, one of the leading literary magazines in China.
