When you think of romantic cities, Paris is probably the first one you think of. But don’t count Shanghai out! We might not have the Eiffel tower or Gondalas, but there are dozens of reasons Shanghai is an amazing city for romance.
1. Beautiful streets
One way to be romantic that has existed forever: going on a walk. In this city, that will never get old, whether it be the bund, a park or even just some unexplored little neighborhood, you’ll never run out of places to stroll together.

One of the most romantic parts about living in a city with a partner is that you can have your own little favorite spots. Whether it be a hole-in-the-wall bar or an incredible hidden restaurant, there are thousands of little spots to make your own.

Walk along Wuding Lu and it’s like walking around the East Village in New York, or how about the tree-laden Hengshan Lu, it’s like you are in France! There are even some euro looking mini towns to walk around like the belowed pictured Thames town out in Songjiang.

Most shanghai restaurants have sprawling terraces which give a different perspective on the more traditional city views. Bund view? How about Peninsula, Flair, Lost Heaven or Bar Rouge? How about a city view like Kartel or Mayita? Sunsets and evening cocktails with your main squeeze makes the moment even sweeter.

The skyline is always different depending where you stand along the Huangpu. Binjiang avenue has a beautiful spot to see the art-deco buildings of the Bund in Puxi. But sometimes, it is how different things look when we are on opposite vertical planes.
