It’s officially brunch season! Ok, well maybe that’s not a real thing… but do you really need an excuse to brunch? We’ve picked 5 spots we think are perfect to for a laid back (possibly boozy) weekend brunch, see you there!
BRUT CAKE CAFÉ
Address: 698 Yuyuan Lu
Brunch Hours: Weekends, 11am-9pm
Tel: 1732 100 8129
Price: RMB 50-100 per person
Quirky little café with homemade furniture (most of which is actually refurbished and for sale). The food is great and not too pricey. Cozy atmosphere makes it a perfect brunch choice, especially considering they do ‘ALL DAY BRUNCH’ from 11am-9pm on weekends.
ODELICE

Address: 208 Xinle Lu
Brunch Hours: Weekends
Tel: 021 3461 5657
Price: RMB 100-200 per person
This French café has a surprisingly laid back atmosphere, considering how amazing the crepes and other menu offerings are. Also a perfect outdoor patio to enjoy a little nice weather while you brunch.
SOBER CAFÉ
Address: 99 Yangdang Lu (near Nanchang lu)
Café hours: 8am-1am
Tel: 021 5309 8261
Price: RMB 100-250 per person
Shanghai’s newest F&B monolith ‘Sober Company’ has given us all a wonderful new brunch option. Their euro/HK/Japan style breakfast diner and café on the first floor has indoor and outdoor seating, great breakfast options, and best of all: a selection of great coffee cocktails and other booze.
DAGA CAFE & BREWPUB
Address: 100 Fuxing Xi Lu, 021 3469 5338 | 37 Taian Lu, 021 3469 5337
Brunch Hours: Weekends
Price: RMB 100-200 per person
Daga has two locations in Shanghai, both have great selections of beer, which includes a lot of underappreciated Chinese craft. They also have awesome food (but we go mainly for the beer and cheery atmosphere).
BITES & BREWS
Address: 399 Jiaozhou Lu
Brunch Hours: Weekends starting at
Tel: 1510 216 7281
Price: RMB 50-150 per person
This little sandwich and beer spot has a lot to offer when it comes to brunch, even though they don’t technically HAVE brunch…stay with us here. They offer a half salad half sandwich deal on weekends for an impossibly low RMB 35. Add a few of their great brews and BAM, it’s an off-the-books brunch.
