HEAT FRENCH ROTISSERIE & BISTRO

A new rotisserie with some seriously amazing chicken. Delicious, tasty and savory, just go eat one. Apart from their beautiful birds, there are killer slides dishes, salads and French-home-cooked-style mains are all recommended. They also have perfect cocktails and a bright, fresh interior design.

Where? Describe themselves as a “super-club,” a venue that offers drinks, food, and dancing in a seductive environment among the Sinan Mansions. The venue is comfortable, sophisticated and a just little bit feminine. Delectable nest for an evening of class and relaxation, don’t miss to hit their cocktail paired with few late evening snacks. Dedicated to sofa and conversation until 10.30, the venue turns the beat on later until time closure. 

THE MAGNOLIA ROOM

The Magnolia Room is a new speakeasy-style bar located inside Tour on Changle Lu. A fake wall slides open and a staircase leads you down into it… The space is very dark, with leather couches, jazzy vibes, a glowing bar and old-timey blues music. Just like Tour, all menu cocktails come with a small complimentary food or snack item, meant to enhance the drink. The highlight of the place is their menu. Done like a classy scratch lotto ticket, you can win prizes based on many little martini symbols you find. Count around RMB 90 a drink. 

TRIBE

The Changle Lu/ Fumin Lu area just got a little more interesting courtesy of organic restaurant Tribe. Green explosion to expect!! The emphasis is on healthy and organic foods, with all dishes thoroughly labeled to tell you if it’d high in Fiber, Vegetarian, Vegan, sugar free, high in Probiotics etc. Tribe has put a lot of effort into making ‘organic’ a fun concept. Food is life, and life is fun!  Hence the foods all pop with color and aroma, the presentations are wildly eye-catching, the soundtrack makes you want to dance around and you just might with their selection of organic cocktails. It deserves a try! 

MR. BANH MI (BY CYCLO)

Address: 272 Wulumuqi Lu

Hours: Daily 11am-9pm

Price: Around RMB50 per person 

Mr. Banh Mi is a Vietnamese food spot right next to avocado lady. They’ve got perfect Banh Mis, as well as vermicelli, spring rolls, juices and Vietnamese coffee. The spot is owned and run by the guys from Cyclo so you know it’s quality stuff. They have 8 options but our favorite was the Xa Xiu Pork Sandwich for RMB 45. All sandwiches range from RMB 35-50 depending on size and selection. 

BONUS

Address: 272 Wulumuqi Lu

Hours: Daily 12-9pm

Price: RMB20 the scoop 

After your Banh Mi, walk about 30 seconds down Wulumuqi Lu and you’ll find Bonus, a Gelato pop up that opened after CNY. They’ve got great flavors like olive oil and pine nut, spicy chocolate and salted Caramel. There’s also more traditional flavors like vanilla and maraschino cherry. Count RMB30 an Icecream ( for two scoops!)
