Franck Bistro is (sort of) Back!
The restaurant temporarily shut down after Farine’s notorious flour scandal, but against all odds they’ve reopened today (with some notable changes). We should note that Rachel, WYF, Grains, and Farine are still closed.
How is it possible?
It turns out Franck Pecol was not the only investor involved with this restaurant. Actually he was just a minor shareholder for the bistro (as opposed to his status as a major shareholder for the other venues that shut down).
After Franck disappeared from Shanghai’s F&B panorama, the rest of the Franck Bistro’s team worked hard to bring the diner back. They’ve managed to do it, but definitely without Franck as either a partner or a brand name.
Here is a picture of the venue, as you'll notice, the name ‘Franck’ has disappeared.
For now the diner is soft re-opened. This week costumers will be mostly friends and relatives, in order to bring it back to life, step-by-step. If you want to have your dinner there you'll need to contact them beforehand via Franck-LFP (wechat account).
It’s hard to say whether or not the Bistro will be able to entirely put past events behind them, but we’re on board to start eating there again, and will certainly keep you posted!
