Who doesn’t like an amble down Anfu Lu, particularly that stretch between Wulumuqi and Wukang? It’s magical….so much so, that sometimes stuff just disappears (we could swear Hunter Gatherer was just there!). But hey, that’s life in our town and its our job to give you the low-down. So whether you want to showcase guests one of Shanghai’s favourite streets, or simply just want to eat, start on Wulumuqi and Go West – we’ll handle the rest!

 

COUTURIER SHANGHAI (#151)

 


If you or the fashionista friend want tailor-made wear or a special dress with flair, check out this icon of Anfu Lu. At the premises since 2007, Rie Ishikawa was a former fashion journalist from Tokyo and uses playful and beautiful patterns on silk or cotton. STYLE BUTLER (#163)

 


Made for the tall, chic and beautiful, this Danish design house will have you drooling at their exquisite designs and luxurious fabrics. Also importing European accessories, these make unique gifts.  Sizes run large, so you can smile through your wallet whilst paying for XS everything but we reckon its worth the pain just to be vain! JUST GRAPES (#162)

 


Thirsty or did you just eyeball the grapes sign opposite? Grab a sidewalk seat under shady trees at this store and bistro that has wine from every region. With a helpful classification system based on flavour and aroma, you can sit and stare there at all Anfu action. Tasty bites accompany, but don't get too comfy as there’s more to explore! One for the boys, the second Shanghai branch of a Dutch company has swish suits made of Italian fabrics with traditional craftsmanship. Need sustenance on the go? Walk into the ground floor of this “Wagas-Plaza” to find the flagship of Shanghai’s saviour to the coffee scene. Grab a fab flat white and cake, or a fresh juice and health bite. No judgement! If queues here are not worth your wear, you have other sit-down dining options in the complex. House proud and love design? No budget, pets or kids? Go nuts with gawkable, designer furniture and accessories, but see and don’t touch if you don’t want to spend much. FEI YUE (#250)

 


Fall over in relief if those shoes you’re wearing ain’t made for walking. Yes, a Fei Yue exists here rather ubiquitously in a (literal) cornerstore! Whether for you to up your street-cred or for guests to take home a piece of Shanghai, this basic turned ‘shi shi’ hipster brand features comfy shoes from baby/toddler to adult sizes. Blisters be banished and say ‘ahhh…’. Opening hours: 10am-7pm.
