2017-07-05 ShanghaiWOWeng

Original Shanghainese may soon have trouble recognizing the North Bund!

By July 1, the new construction at Binjiang, Hongkou will be complete! That means that we’ll have a beautiful new skyline, and lots of iinteresting new places to explore.

The Seagull Viewing Platform

The Seagull Viewing Platform is the best spot to look out at the whole of The Bund and Lujiazui. The building itself was actually built in the 80s, but only now it has become something worthy of a visit. It boasts a panoramic view of both the brand new North Bund and the Old Bund. It beats standing in the middle of a big, sweaty crowd any day!

Skyscrapers Comparable to Lujiazui

There’s only one way to describe the rows upon rows of skyscrapers in Lujiazui: dazzling. But now Lujiazui will have to compete with the North Bund!

Jinguang Centre [Golden Centre] (White Magnolia Square)

This whopping 320m-high tower is the real star of the show.

Shanghai Xinghui Centre [Shanghai Galaxy Centre]

From here you get a good view of Lujiazui just across the river.

Xinggang International Centre [Starport International Centre]

These are going to become the tallest twin towers in Shanghai.

Still waiting for...

Financial Street Helen Centre [Jinrong Jie Hailun Centre]

and

North Bund Business Centre

When they’re complete, you’ll feel like a futuristic supervillian standing inside them!

Rainbow Bridge

Near Lushun Lu on the North Bund, there’s a brand new rainbow bridge which lights up and changes color at night!

Jiantou Shuju

Jiantou Shuju [Investment Bureau] is located on the North Bund, and inside it looks just like Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The huge floor-to-ceiling windows allow you to get an unparalleled glimpse of the scenery of Lujiazui, or alternatively immerse yourself in the universe of books inside!

Green Oxygen Bar

There’s a huge new green space measuring 130,000 square meters on the North Bund. The goal of the place is to grow as much forest and produce as much oxygen as possible. In future, it’ll be the perfect spot to go for a run or bring your kids for a family day out. It’s the most green you’ll ever see in Shanghai!

Rainbow World Moon Bay [Ruihong Tiandi Yueliang Wan]

This shopping centre covers a whopping 80,000 square meters! There are tons of great restaurants, coffee shops and even a live music bar!

W Hotel

The long-awaited W Hotel finally opened on the North Bund. Keeping in tradition with the local area, the interior is decorated in a modern Shanghainese style. It boasts 374 rooms, which are all equipped with Bliss bathroom products. Plus it has a fantastic view of the skyline!

Sky Garden

A sky garden has been erected on the roof of an old stadium from 1933. It’s about 700 square meters of a whole bunch of different types of flowers and plants, as well as an outdoor dining area.
