5 Tips to Protect Your Skin This Summer

2017-07-10 ShanghaiWOWeng

Summer is here which means we need to take extra care of our skin. Healthy skin is the reflection of overall health condition of an individual. We have listed our 5 top tips to help protect your skin this summer.

Wear sunscreen

It is important to apply sunscreen on a daily basis and not just when you are going to be sitting around the pool. The sun’s UV rays are potent all year round, no matter the time you are exposed to the sun.

Apply sunscreen frequently

It is necessary to apply sunscreen more often during the day rather than just once in the morning. This is because the sunscreen gets rubbed-off during your daily activities. When swimming, you must re-apply sunscreen when coming out of the water, even if the sunscreen is waterproof.

Understand your SPF

Sun Protection Factor (SPF) judges the protection that a product is able to offer in terms of exposure time in relation to sunburn when compared to unprotected exposure. For example, if you have put on SPF 30 then it means that a sun exposure 30 times greater would need to happen before getting burnt compared to if you had no sun block on.

Cover up during the hottest hours of the day

Summer is the time when our skin needs more protection. This will also help to prevent sunburn.

Try ‘sunless’ tanning

There are a number of self-tanning products which can give you that sun-kissed look you are going for. This way you are avoiding doing irreparable damage to your skin.
