New Train Will Cut Shanghai to HK Travel to 8 Hours
Some key train rides in China are about to get drastically shorter. A new high speed train, set to be completed by the end of 2018, will link Beijing to Hong Kong, as well as Shanghai to Hong Kong on a separate line, along with 16 other cities in between.
The train from Shanghai to Hong Kong, which now takes about 19 hours, will be cut down to just 8. Beijing to Hong Kong (currently around 24 hours) will be reduced to around 9.
