BMW Car Share Hits China
Last week we told you about Audi’s A3 share (see ‘related articles’ below for that), and this week it looks like BMW is now entering the car share market as well. On August 9th they unveiled their 1500 BMW share cars in ShenYang.
Registration and use works much the same way as bike shares. Scan the QR code and download the APP (HY弘扬共享汽车) use the APP to register your information, and the door will automatically open.
The deposit is RMB 999, and new users can have two free rides before being charged at RMB1.5 per kilometer. Users are restricted from driving more than RMB200 in one day. Parking is free.
Will they be hitting Shanghai sometime soon? Looks like that answer for now is ‘maybe.’
