World's Largest Starbucks Opens in Shanghai Today
Three years ago, Starbucks opened the world’s first Reserve Roastery in Seattle. Now, the epitome of Starbucks coffee and retail innovation is open in China, the company’s fastest growing market. The Shanghai Roastery is an unprecedented feast for the senses across 30,000 square feet of coffee roasting and brewing, Italian baking and exquisite local craftsmanship. It opens to the public tomorrow, December 6th.
The 30,000-square-foot Starbucks Roastery, the first of its kind in Asia, introduces visitors to a fully immersive coffee wonderland.

Visitors to the Shanghai Roastery will be stunned by the massive copper roasting cask, along with Starbucks’ longest coffee bar in the world, a 3-D printed tea bar and even a state-of-the-art augmented reality (AR) display.
Highly trained coffee roasters prepare the beans next to the two-story 40-ton copper cask, which is covered with 1,000 hand-carved traditional Chinese chops, or stamps, that tell the story of Starbucks.
More than 80 items are baked fresh onsite daily at the Princi bakery, the first in Asia, inside the Shanghai Roastery. Princi is the exclusive food pairing partner at Starbucks Roasteries.
