Gouqi Island

Gouqi Island is located in the east of Chengsi Islands and so is close to both Shanghai and Zhoushan city. Summer is the best time to travel here, as they have awesome beaches and a unique fishtown culture (not to mention great seafood). It’s low key, beautiful, and well off the beaten path.
Xianju Gongyu
Address: Gongyu Village, Tianshi Town, Xianju County, Zhejiang Province

Xianju Gongyu is called the Shangri-la of the Jiangnan Region. Gongyu Village also includes Shangping Village and Xiaping Village, both tucked among 600 meter mountains. Tourists come here mainly for hiking or camping. In summer and autumn the green or golden colors are a real sight to be seen, and relatively unknown to many tourists.

Chenxi belongs to Shaoxi City and is only 200 kilometers from Shanghai, so you can even drive there in 3 hours. They have beautiful French villages, exciting River Rafting, and also gorgeous mountain views. But because it is deeply nested in mountains, they don’t have convenient transport and it’s rare for tourists to come here.
Nianbadu Old Town

Nianbadu is located on the border of Zhejiang, Fujiang, and Jiangxi Provinces. It includes Xunli Village, Huaqiao Village, Fengxi Village, and still has all the original architectur combining different styles from three provinces. Interestingly, almost 3600 people live here with up to 69 Chinese surnames.
Baishanzu

Baishanzu scenic areas is located in Qingyuan County. Its main peak Baishanzu is ranked the second highest peak, at height of 1856.7 meters. It features rare animals and plants like the rarest 3 Baishanzu firs in the world. It’s even said to have South China Tigers. It is also called the “origin of three rivers” including Ou River, Min River, and Fu’an River. Though it is less renowned than other big mountains in Zhejiang, it does ensure you a quiet and natural environment if you need.
Yantou Village

Yantou Village has witnessed 600 years of history, and this old village shows it. You can feel its historical and cultural traces everywhere. With anulus hills all around and laky passing through, local people have started to take its advantage and develop tourism projects such as Banxi River Rafting.
