6 Bloody Mary's You Have GOT to Try
Spring is on its way and the sun is soon going to be shining. That means, of course, that brunch season is about to begin with vigor. If you are wondering what the drink will kick your brunch into perfection, look no longer. It has to be Bloody Mary. Here are our favorite Bloody Mary’s about town.
The Blind Pig
Price: RMB 98
Address: 132 Nanyang Lu
Tel: 021 62562265
Hours: Daily,10am-1am
The Bloody Mary at the Blind Pig is essentially a drink and a light brunch all rolled into one. It comes with a cheeseburger, a chicken wing, a rasher of bacon and a chicken skewer. It’s gimmicky and we love it.
The Blind Pig are offering one standard Bloody Mary (unfortunately a standard doesn’t come with all the crazy garnishes) and an All Day Breakfast for RMB 100. Deal is valid until March 31st.
Diner
Price: RMB 68
Address: 145 Wuyuan Lu
Tel: 021 6416 1678
Hours: Sunday – Thursday, 8am-10pm, Friday & Saturday, 8am-midnight
Diner knows how to make a Bloody Mary. They use a garnish of homemade spam, something we’re pretty sure no other restaurant offers here. Olives, banana peppers and celery. This is an exquisite glass of happiness.
Hooked
Price: RMB 70
Address: 158 Julu Lu
Tel: 021 6333 2198
Hours: 11am – 10pm
The Bloody Mary at Hooked is simple yet OH so effective. Garnished with fresh cherry tomatoes, olives, fresh basil and celery. It’s the perfect classy brunch time drink. I found it wasn’t quite spicey enough for me, but add a splash of tobasco and you’re good to go.
Caxton
Price: RMB 118
Address: 374 Dagu Lu
Tel: 021 5888 7258
Hours: Daily, 11am-2am
We have another brunch/cocktail all in one affair for you right here. This thing looks like it came out of a science fiction movie, a sweet, savory, orgasmic science fiction movie. There’s certainly nothing subtle about it, so if you’re the low key type it might not be for you, but holy hell it’s amazing.
Al’s Place
Price: RMB 58
Address: 4/F, 300 Huaihai Zhong Lu
Hours: Daily, 10am – 10pm
The Below the Belt Bloody Mary at Al’s place is well worth talking about. It’s a Bloody Mary with a Mexican twist, packed full of lemon salt, salsa and chipotle, it will blow your socks off. Whilst this cocktail was originally only available in the K11 Mall branch of Al’s Place, they have rolled it out to all their other venues starting this weekend. Available weekends only.
