March is a special month in Shanghai, not only does the city finally emerge from its (often miserable) winter weather, but we’re also treated to a bundle of incoming live performances, plays, exhibitions and more! Here are 58 things to look out for during the rest of this month!

Doboku Exhibition

“Designing Shanghai” 2018 Asia’s Top Design Exhibition

Asia’s top design exhibition is back in Shanghai. Featuring its largest exhibition to date, the event gathers over 30 countries and 400 local and international brands to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the “Designing Shanghai” exhibit.

Water and Earth Contemporary Ceramics & Painting Exhibition by Jasmine Little and Joy Kvapil

The first collaboration between Galerie Dumonteil and French art gallery, Lefebvre & Fils, Water and Earth exhibition puts up contemporary ceramics and paintings by American modern artists Jasmine Little and Joy Kvapil. The exhibition will display 22 ceramic items and 10 paintings.
Love Ink Our Tattoo Your Story

Preparing 10 tattoo pieces and love stories, and opened to only 100 people daily; learn about the different stories and love from different walks of life through the art of tattooing.
D From Natural Works to Art Treasure

Letranger Melancolie

The exhibition chooses poetic works of great Chinese artists who moved to the West and dedicated themselves to the Western classical art during the Revolution of 1911.
In the Pictures

A VR film on inner self-discovery, the film will be showing at the Qian Xuesen Library for free for a month and is made by an independent artist. It was shortlisted for the 74th Venice Film Festival.
Indescibable

The exhibition will feature 6 young artists’ views of life and their value system. Develop your own interpretation about the various concepts in the exhibition, which will be featured at Aegean Sea Park and Mall until March 27th.

Musashi

Carmen Opera

An opera in four acts, Carmen, is by French composer Georges Bizet, and is set in Seville around 1830. The show features the downfall of Don Jose, who was seduced by the fiery gypsy, Carmen.
