Studio Opening: Pilates ProWorks

2018-04-27 Rachel ShanghaiWOWeng

Jingan has a new pilates and barre studio to help you get strong, toned, and lean. They even built their own reformers, named the FitFormer™’ to help them give their customers an even more personalized workout. They just had their grand opening, which seemed to be a big success. Here's what you can expect...

A US franchise, Pilates ProWorks was founded after Oscar Sanin, the founder, was in a serious plane crash, and found pilates as a way to recover from injuries and surgeries. He found that many of the reformers in Pilates classes weren’t comfortable or easy to use – so he decided to make his own, thus resulting in the birth of the FitFormer™. He and his wife, Taylor Carter, worked to build more and started offering their own pilates classes – and the rest is history.

Pilates ProWorks is a fitness concept centered on Pilates – with a modern, innovative twist – that tones and strengthens body, mind, and spirit. They use a combination of custom machinery and a wide range of upbeat classes that fuse Pilates with everything from barre to yoga to boxing, participants achieve healthy results without the pain or harm of high-impact workouts.

In your Pilates workout, you’ll spend the class moving all over a FitFormer™. The machine was designed for an all-in-one full body workout and seamless transitions. It can adapt to any fitness level, from beginner to Pro-Athlete, and is longer and wider than normal reformers.

They like to keep things interesting by infusing variety, intensity, and quality into their workouts. They currently offer two classes: PilatesPro and Barre classes. Soon they’ll be offering two more, Matbox, and Tone & Flow.

If you think this looks easy, it’s not – we tried the workout. You’re basically balancing on top of this thing while using hand weights, and totally controlling your moments. The day after I was sore in the strangest places, since those muscles apparently don’t receive enough attention.

Their studio is super conveniently located right on the corner of Jiaozhou and Wuding, so you can pop in for a quick workout. They have lockers, changing rooms, brand new showers, and towels, so you don’t need to take much with you. They offer first-timers a free trial – so go claim it while you can!
