Adopt These Furry Creatures!

2018-04-29 Claire L. Squire ShanghaiWOWeng

Shanghai WOW! has teamed up with People 4 Pets, a local Shanghai animal rescue organization. We want to help do our bit to find some of these cute little critters a loving forever home. Whether you’re looking to adopt, donate or volunteer, we have all the info you need right here.

A little about People 4 Pets…

People 4 Pets rescues and funds treatment of medical conditions for Shanghai’s sick and stray animals. P4P started three years ago and have so far helped more than 200 animals, many of whom had suffered terrible injuries requiring lengthy recoveries. Happily, they are now in good homes in China and throughout the world. We also help many animals indirectly, providing information to owners, such as export procedures and information on veterinary treatment in Shanghai. P4P is committed to transparency in charity; proudly having an open book policy.

So let’s get down to business, and take a look at the little darlings looking for love.

Harry

Age: 12 years old

Health: Vaccinated, neutered, blind in one eye

Size: Small

Harry’s rescue story: Harry was found on the street wearing a coat, indicating that he was lost. We made a flyer trying to find his owner but were not successful. Sadly, we found he had a microchip and called the registered owner, who informed us that Harry was lost in 2011 and that he didn’t want him back. We are looking for a forever home for this sweet, old boy.

Victoria

Gender: Female

Age: 12 years old

Health: Vaccinated

Size: Small

Victoria’s rescue story: Victoria was found in Minhang in the grass on the side of a road. She was crying and very distressed. Her fur was matted, clearly it had been a very long time since anybody had taken care of her and we will never why she was abandoned. But a haircut, a good shower and A HOME can work wonders! Victoria is a new dog! As she’s rather old, she loves a little walk and lots and lots of sleep. Give this senior lady a chance!

Hope

Gender: Female

Age: 1-2 years old

Health: Vaccinated / Spayed

Size: Small

Hope’s rescue story: Hope is a miracle cat. She had been thrown out of a moving car on to a busy highway. Her body was broken and we were worried that her spirit would be too after the abuse she had suffered. We shouldn’t have worried. Hope showed real courage in recovering from internal injuries and a fractured pelvis; she was sweet and friendly to the vet who was trying to heal her body and enjoyed cuddles with those who went to visit her. Hope is still in a cage, and that’s no place for a girl with so much love to give!

Lionel

Gender: Male

Age: 3 years old

Health: Vaccinated / neuetered

Size: Medium-Large

Lionel’s rescue story: Lionel was rescued as part of a gang of street dogs who were roaming in a busy area and it was just a matter of time before he disappeared. At first Lionel was very nervous around people, but now he’s more trusting and confident. He loves other dogs, is playful and affectionate and will make a great addition to any family.

Jay Jay

Gender: Male

Age: 1 year old

Health: Vaccinated, Rabies and Microchip, neutered

Size: Medium

Jay Jay’s rescue story: Jay Jay was rescued at the end of 2017 with a fractured leg. He had surgery to fix the fracture, which healed nicely and he can now run very well! Jay Jay loves people, he is good with other dogs and is very sociable. He makes a perfect companion and has a wonderful personality. We think he’s quite handsome, too!
