For many years, Nanjing Xi Lu has dominated Shanghai as the ultimate shopping street but, now, Nanjing Dong Lu is finally making its own mark on the city. Taking 572 days to renovate - with the help of investments of over RMB 300,000,000 - 90% of merchants have now been replaced with 112 new brands alongside a number of flagship Asian stores opening shop.



Ready to shop until you drop? You'll find everything you need with the likes of NIKE's global flagship store and Champion's first flagship in Shanghai to Lego Asia's first city center flagship store, a high-end Starbucks selection venue and Sisyphe's first custom travel-themed shop hitting the scene...the list goes on too.


Designed by the world-famous architectural firm, Kokai Studios, there's a red ladder on the outer squre that will ensure shoppers feel like they're walking into the mall as a royal guest.

Founded in Venice in 2000 by two Italian architects, Kokai Studios moved its headquarters to Shanghai 10 years ago. They're talented at re-injecting soul into historic buildings, ultimately creating masterpieces all over Shanghai.

 

The drastic reform took a whopping 18 months to complete, with rent lost in the process of the enormous sum. 



The scaffolding used for the project weighed as much as 1,000 tons and, if you connected it all together, it would measure around 150,000m long.

The world's highest-profile NIKE flagship store is on the same level as the SOHO flagship store that opened in 2016 in New York. With the new immersive consumer experience model, you NIKE fans may struggle to control yourselves.

LEGO’s second flagship store in Asia

Ready for a fully-customized face?



As the first flagship store in Shanghai - after the LEGO Disney one - this is where you need to go in order to buy all the latest limited edition products. You'll no longer need to sprint to Chuansha! With an area of 585 square meters, it holds the theme "@ Shanghai's Heart" complete with a logo made of LEGO bricks.



In London, LEGO's flagship store houses a machine called the Mosaic Maker. This contraption takes a photograph of your face and, after 10 minutes, will give you a portrait made of LEGO! This private and customized service costs £99 in the UK and, while the same machine will also be making an appearance in Shanghai, the price has not yet been announced.
