Treat yourself to a wellness retreat and start the new year with a new you in Jeju!

Jeju Island

As part of the South Korean islands in the Korean Strait, Jeju enjoys great weather all year round and is know as the "Hawaii of Korea."

Filled with beautiful natural scenery, the place exudes this therapeutic effect to visitors who come from all over the world.

Also known as "Peace Island", Jeju is also know for the recovery effects it gives to visitors.

Apart from that, it is only a 90 minute flight, so makes a great place to escape to this New Year's Eve.

December 30th - January 3rd

Jeju Island New Year’s Eve Retreat

Welcome 2019 recharged and revitalised!

Trip Itinerary

DAY 1

Secret Gardens

Explore Jeju’s gardens - the perfect yoga destination. Known as the Ki Garden, it was created by Lee Byung-Hun. Each setting here has been greatly studied into as well to ensure that they contain the right amount of yin and yang energy.

Between the red stone and bamboo forest is a great spot for reflection and meditation.

Trek at Aewol-eup

Capture the beauty of Jeju Island

Located west of Jeju Island, this is one of Jeju's 31 hidden secrets that have been featured multiple times - a popular spot for many artists and celebrities to relax.

The entire stretch is 1.2km and it’s populated with famous cafes that offer picturesque views of the island. The Monsant and Chunri Cafe can be found here. There are also specialty stores and homestay spots.

Named by Zhang Hanzhe, in 1770 he crossed the seas around Jeju island and, after meeting a huge wave, he only returned home after many years. To recap his journey, he wrote a literary book, and the street was named after what he called it in the book.

Trek along the beach and chance upon the beautiful vegetation, which is surrounded by stones. Set against an infinite sea and white waves, enjoy a slower pace of life and immerse yourself in the natural beauty around you.

The place is surrounded by volcanic ash, a reminder of the volcanoes all around.

DAY 2

Hallasan Mountain

Conquer Korea’s highest mountain

At 1,950m above sea level, Hallasan is Korea’s highest mountain.

Atop the mountain is a volcano that formed after an eruption 25,000 years ago. Volcanic eruptions caused the formation of many smaller volcanoes around.

It is said that visitors who stand on top of Hallasan will be able to see the entire Jeju island and, as the seasons change, see a different type of beauty here.

Hallasan houses a great biodiversity of animals and plants within its thick forests and spacious grasslands. The lake here is a spectacular sight, and visitors can expect to recuperate and recharge here amidst the beautiful nature.

To conquer Hallasan, you'll have to be well-prepared and can opt to follow the Gwaneumsa - Seongpanak - Eorimok trail. In the middle portion, the trail is mainly filled with crossroads and slopes. While taking breaks in between, take a seat under the big trees or on stones, and feel the warmth from the ground underneath you.

Mount Fangshan

Hot springs of ice and fire

This is a rare type of spa in Korea, a hot spring at 31 degrees and considered the best in Korea.

The spa is often populated by locals rather than tourists, and guests can expect to hear an authentic Jeju dialect here while enjoying their spa session.

The sulfuric gas you'll notice here is from the sulfur in the ground, and is said to have great benefits on your skin.

Giving the body warmth and comfort with a slightly prickly sensation, it promotes blood circulation, strengthens the heart and opens up the pores.

DAY 3

Dangun Mountain

See the first light of 2019

In 2333 BC, Dangun was the legendary founder of Gojoseon, and said to be a "grandson of heaven" and "son of a bear."

Trek along Dangun Mountain and enjoy the beautiful sunrise as you welcome in 2019 with a new you and life.

Recharge your mind, hear the wind, smell the sea, embrace the sunlight around and see some of the best of mother nature.

As the first sunrise of 2019, you will integrate the power and brightness of the sun with yourself and awaken your life force to bring good luck into your 2019. Sunrise meditation is one of the most powerful way of recharging and motivating yourself to grow and develop.

Archery training

A national sport in Korea

Try out an archery training session, which happens to be a national sport.

For a long time, Archery is considered to be a representative method of training the body and the mind, as it allows individuals to control their breathing, train how much pressure they exert and strengthen the muscles. The ancient people of Jeju used to shoot an arrow to decide their own residential area. You will experience and enjoy learning the art of Archery from an expert during your trip and learn how you can control breathing, manage strees and strengthen your own muscles!

The last sport we recommend here to complete the trip is meditation.

Enjoy deep meditation

As Jobs once said: "in life, what I need is a cup of tea, a light and music box, and that’s all I need." This is the true outcome of meditation.

Not only did he meditate daily, when strategizing he would often ask his employees to let him meditate and thereafter he would make the final decision with a sharp mind.

Oscar winner, Goldie Hawn, Ford CEO, William Clay Ford, Jr. and Hillary Clinton are some key figures who practice meditation daily.

Benefits of meditation include heightened focus, improved rational thinking, reduced anxiety and stress.

Yoga lessons

Revitalize and recharge: understanding your inner self

Curated for the new year, there are three meditation classes to help discover a new you.

As we live in this materialistic world, we often find ourselves lusting over delicious food, an enviable body and not prioritize how we truly feel.

When we meditate, we focus our whole body and energy into ourselves, and block out the noise around. This allows us to think and delve into things we often oversee on a daily basis.

Quiet meditative training: improve your focus and productivity

How long has it been since you last red a book?

In the last 10 years, with the rise of the internet, speed of news travel and information has significantly increased, and that has disrupted our attention and ability to focus.

Through meditation, we are able to focus on our breathing and quieten ourselves to gather our thoughts.

Walking meditation: enjoy the peace and improve your sleep

As you meditate, relax your entire body and feel all your stress slide away. This will greatly improve your quality of sleep every night.

According to the Daily Mail, strolling helps to invigorate our body and is said to reduce anxiety and depression.

During this walking meditation, you'll get the chance to review your life in 2018 as well as receive new energy and clarity for how to live your life in 2019.

New Year’s Eve Meditation Exercise

Join us and try it out!

Before answering, reflect deeply upon these questions:

In 2019, what do I envision myself to be and how can I stay interconnected to everything around me and really live life?

In 2019, what do I hope to contribute and how can I improve upon them?

In 2019, how do I truly live in the moment and create a future I really want?

New Year, New You Training and Meditation

Let go of any regrets in 2018 and worries for 2019, and learn how to be yourself and enjoy your life properly. Sometimes we all wish to be able to reset out lives as easily as restarting a computer, and New Year's is one of the best times to attempt this reset for yourself. With integrated exercises and meditation for mind and body, you will refresh yourself inside and out for a sense of renewal. Guided training and meditation can help raise awareness of both yourself and your life.
