This Little Street on The Bund is a Hit Right Now

ShanghaiWOWeng 2019-04-05

Rockbund is where The Bund begins. Home to one of the famous museums, this is also said to be the start of The Bund's history.

Filled with Michelin-starred restaurants and famous private dining areas, Rockbund is thought to be a pretty prestigious place in town too.

Aside from the picturesque architecture, Rockbund has some awesome venues for you to explore. Check them out!

100 Years of History Restored

11 buildings renovated

East of Yuan Ming Li and Park No. 33, west of Huqiu Lu, north of Suzhou He Lu and south of Beijing Dong Lu, Rockbund is located in a bustling area amidst the likes of Guang Lu Building, Zheng Guang building, Lanxin Building and more.

Preserving historical architecture, the team of Sino Link HK and Rockefeller Financial Group gave the old European building a new lease of life, complete with new designs and structures to align it with the old look and feel.

Beyond the Back Alley of The Bund

This is where the hipsters go

Walking from the Bund to Nanjing Dong Lu, a turn to Yuan Ming Yuan Lu makes you feel as if you've been transported to another world with the floral designs and new discoveries on a daily basis.

Visitors often enjoy art and culture at the Rockbund Art Museum, as well as a great meal before ending the day with a hand-pressed coffee at a popular café nearby.

While walking along Rockbund, you'll notice many interesting things along the way:

The stairs in the Ampere Foreign Firm make a great photo backdrop.

There's some pretty unique sake from a Japanese restaurant that many diners have grown to love.

The cup of coffee that warms the soul on a cold day.

The majestic architecture on a cold winter night.

The street has become friendlier while remaining true to its original elegance and character.

Many also ask, about the future of the street. With renovations going on, many of the plans include adding new buildings, though there's still a question mark on when all of these renovations will be finished. However, one thing we are sure of is that the street is bound to become even busier as time passes.

3 New Cafés

Beautiful Concept

A vintage style café

The popular café on Yong Kang Lu moved into this 95-year old building and is decorated with a Broadway lightbox, a French car, a vintage feama coffee machine and much more.

The 1940s car was directly imported from Paris and often serves as a photo prop for diners frequenting the café.

The 1.6-tonne cinema lightbox, Broadway-inspired setting, and the variety of coffee beans available are just some of the key features of the café.

Sitting on the old coffee shop chair, you can enjoy conversation with friends and colleagues for a relaxing afternoon break.

To the side of the café is a denim exhibition selling various accessories. They even stock the American Cone Denim brand here as well.
