The history behind the Peace Hotel is well known throughout Shanghai and also, written in the history books. Whether you are here for the Old Jazz Band or for a night out, this is one landmark hotel with a rich past. The Jasmine Afternoon Tea tradition started in the 1930s, and over the years, the hotel regularly pushes out new menus, of Chinese and Western delights, along with homemade scones, tea, and coffee.



Every Saturday, they have a tea and dance session, and diners can train with a dance instructor over tea.

Originally from Hong Kong, the Peninsula Hotel brought its classic roots to Shanghai and with it, their famous English afternoon tea. 




Their afternoon tea is in their lobby lounge, which with their high ceilings and white design really highlights the array of color and creativity from their scones and pastry selections.

Since its opening, the Bellagio Hotel has been taking center stage along the Suzhou river. 



The entrance of the hotel has 2 rose walls, made from 1,500 roses over a 4 month period. 



The beautiful crystal and leather decor are inspired by a female handbag, making the entire bar look expensive and well put together.




The Afternoon Tea at the Bellagio Hotel dresses to the part. Well-prepared by the kitchen, the tea set includes homemade smoked salmon, foie gras, Iberico ham, caviar and more.

Anandi Hotel’s afternoon tea menu consists of 2 parts, a traditional English breakfast and a therapeutic session. The afternoon tea is available daily, while the therapeutic session is only available on the weekends. 



Their Pomegranate afternoon tea is a traditional English afternoon tea, with 8 types of TWG Tea to accompany the menu.

Bvlgari Hotel, Shanghai



For a walk on the luxurious side, Bvlgari Hotel's Afternoon Tea is only reserved for guests who stay in this hotel.  While there is a walk in section, the que to get in for it begins two hours beforehand just to wait for an opportunity to catch the gorgeous view of the Huangpu river from the outdoor terrace. 



Their classic 3-tier afternoon tea is like a meal with savory delights on the bottom tier, and desserts on the top 2 tiers. The afternoon tea set retails at RMB 4,471 and includes quality Kaluga caviar.



With temperatures dropping close to zero in the winter, the outdoor seating is closed. However, with the promise of spring lingering in the air, their terrace view is one of a kind.

This spectacular hotel took over a decade to build and it is one of the hottest hotels to visit at the moment. 




As it is opened mainly to reservations and hotel guests, the hotel will leave a small section open for walk-in guests for the day. 



What is the lure? Not only is it built inside an old quarry, but the entire hotel is also built 16 floors below sea level and reaching two floors above sea level. 




To catch a spot in one of the below ground restaurants, their afternoon tea is served in a two layered jewelry box. 



The savory delights include crab meat, lobster, foie gras and more, with each of them well-made to perfection.



The bar and lake center is connected by a platform, and the entire area is surrounded by luscious greenery.

Edition Hotel Shanghai



The Shanghai Edition hotel is one of the newest and trendy hotels happening on the scene.



Walk in and enter the Shanghai Tavern which has a 7-story high ceiling filled with lush greenery. Located at the heart of East Nanjing Lu, the ambiance and afternoon tea is impressive and grand. 



First, you cannot ignore the beautiful design of the hotel with its white and green color scheme.

Since its opening, Sukhothai Hotel has often been topping the search list with its fine offerings. From exquisite interiors and floral displays to, specialty gin bar. But now, their afternoon tea is also beginning to carve a name for itself.




Their winter seasonal afternoon tea featuring warm chocolate was a hit. Now their spring afternoon tea carries the same creative genius focusing on selected pastries etc..



The way to eat is pretty interesting, as diners can choose their preferred chocolate from one of the tins first.



Ranging in richness and flavor, the chocolate is then melted and well mixed to form the hotpot. The sides for this hotpot includes cherry tomatoes, strawberry, carrot, pepper and other fruits. The hotel also launched 3 different types of chocolate cocktails for the chocolate lovers here.
